What is your favorite song from the 60s-70s

My favorite song is "Summer Song" by Chad & Jeremy (I think that's who sang it). When I was younger my parents would take us for long drives on Sunday afternoons with the windows down, listening to oldies. This was always my favorite song and whenever I listen to it, it brings back such great memories of a time before jobs, bills, work traffic, etc. :hippie: And when the rain, beats against my window pane, I'll think of summer days again, and dream of you...

The whole Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, The Lovin spoonful "I love you more today than yesterday", Frankie Vallee "Oh what a night!", "You're just too good to be true!", Most of the Billy Joel from the 70s esp "Just the way you are" (I think it was playing when I met my husband and it makes me think of him!), Queen "Bohemian Rhapsody" and two lost oldies "Beach Baby" & "Afternoon Delight" from those days sitting on the lifeguard stand! Anything from the mid 70s makes me feel like a teenager again instantly.

Oh and the Jimmy Buffet and Earth Wind & Fire that used to blare up and down Frat Row in college.

Wish I could remember those years...Things were a little "smokey" back them :teeth:

Darn, you missed it by a couple of years. "Southern Cross" by CSN was released in '82, not the 60's or 70's (but it's still a really good song) IMHO.

"Bluebird" by Buffalo Springfield (1967) was a very cool song.

Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 1975... :thumbsup2

So many great songs in the '60s and '70s. Carole King, Carly Simon, James Taylor, and the Moody Blues are among my favorites. I read in the paper that more teens are into Classic Rock and DD17 bears that out. DD14 is into the typical rap stuff... :confused3. Where did we go wrong??? ;)

Oh and also "Brandy" by The Looking Glass. I don't know why I like it so much. Maybe all of those Navy guys I dated when I was 18 and 19 ;)

I couldn't pick just one Beatles song, so go ahead and pick one for me. They are all my favorites. :)

Where indeed? :rotfl2:

Gave ours a better start in life. We play oldies in the car and at home. DS 12 and DS 13 tune into rap and strange rap-like stuff too. Can't understand it but I think I'll try filtering "our music" into their dream states and make them believe it is thier own concious choice to select the classics. Gotta try something before it's too late. :charac2: Oldies Rock!
