Chocolate box (our name, not sure what the real name is) from a little resturant in Newport Oregon. THey make a box out of chocolate, fill it with moose and fresh fruit with white chocolate sauce. It is to die for. We get it every time we go. I have tried and failed to make them at home.
1.The Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory.
2. Every other cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory.
DH HATES cheesecake. He had a work lunch at Cheesecake Factory one day. He said he was full and brought home a piece for me . Then he tasted it and proceeded to eat half . It is the only cheesecake he will eat.
Even though I love dessert I hardly ever order it when we go out to dinner. The best thing I've ever tried was fried ice cream with chocolate syrup on it.
our local authentic mexican restaurant, ( owned by a freind of ours btw) serves the absolute best fried ice cream.
you can get it in chocolate, or strawberry, or both mixed,,,, it is delicious, dw has been known to skip the meal and just have hte fried icecream before..lol
I remember when Jiko at AKL first opened they had a wonderful creme brulee. Very smooth and believe it or not was topped with black pepper. I know it sounds weird but it was sooooo good. But I guess too many people also thought it was strange, and they changed the recipe to accomodate everyone. But I for one wish they would bring the original back!!
The manager at our local Cheddars brought us one last Sunday-they'd made one for another table, and it wasn't supposed to have nuts. That was really good! Then again, the whole cheddars experience is good! (esp. when a server gave me the recipe for their spinach dip! )
"Better than Sex" (Really, that's what it's called) at a little cafe in town-it's a flaky shell with nuts and cream in it. My second favorite used to be the cannoli at Johnny Carino's, when DS worked there, but he's not there any more. But now he's a server at Chilli's, so I must ask him about this Molton Lava Cake.
On Royal Caribbean in the Steakhouse they have a Mud Pie that is to die for. Seriously the best dessert on the face of the earth. On our last cruise we ate in the specialty restaurants five of the nights and once we discovered this dessert, Portofino's where we ate three times brought the dessert over from the steakhouse b/c we liked it soo much.
