What is your favorite quiet building at POFQ?

We stayed at POFQ last August/September. Before getting to WDW, we had made a few requests...Building 2, exterior corner window, and 3rd floor. We received every one of those requests and then some. We had booked a Garden View room but we were upgraded to a River View.

We had room #2332 and our windows overlooked both the pool slide area as well as the river/boat dock. We were also very close to the elevator and stairs which meant a 2 minute walk to the food court and pool and maybe 4 minutes to the buses.

We LOVED POFQ and that room was just perfect!! We hardly ever saw anyone else pass by or even walking on our little street coming and going from the main building.

That is so funny. I looked at the room as it is one of the few corner rooms that isn't king size. It was on my list and then I nixed it because I was worried it would be too loud being on the side of the pool and near the boat dock. Should I go ahead and put it back on based on your experience? I have paid now for the garden view which I had not done. It may only be $100, but it is $100. However, I felt my best chance at getting one of my requested rooms would be to at least pay for the category. My number one choice happens to be in building 7 water view. It is honestly the only room in the whole complex that is perfect. Can't figure out why it is so different in building configuration than the values where I always have great choices. Oh well.

How did you go about getting your request done? DId you write a note? fax? or just have it on your reservation. I have always had my methodology down at the values and have done well but not sure if POFQ will work the same.

Thanks for remembering your room number and giving me insight. I may just put this room on the short list again! :goodvibes

We really never heard anyone in the rooms near us. I only remember seeing someone walk by one night and they kept walking to a room further down from us. We even walked around Building 2 one night and saw hardly anyone. It was much different than our usual stays at Pop where there is always someone.

We also never heard any pool noise and the occasional boat sounds were not so bad either. It was a very nice and quiet little corner. We usually always stay Value (mainly Pop) since we spend so little time in our rooms but decided to for POFQ this trip and just loved it! It was one of our best trips ever mainly because of the resort.

Besides the great room location and 2 minute walks to everything, we were also a super short bus ride to the MK. I always hate the ride back to any other resort from the MK but it was so much better going to FQ. Any other time, you always have to make that roundabout trip through the MK parking area and by the racetrack but if you stay at FQ, you get to just make a left turn instead and skip all of that. LOL The resort is actually quiet close to the MK.

We always just call and make any requests and have almost always had good results. When I made the requests I knew that I at least wanted Building 2 since we had booked a Garden View and I wanted it to be a pretty one. LOL Then I was really hoping for a corner room because of the 2 windows. Getting those requests was great and then adding the river view was a bonus!

I definitely recommend this room. My DH and I keep saying that we don't know if we could stay at POFQ again only because our trip there last year was just so perfect. We are afraid a second visit just wouldn't be as great. We all loved it so much.

Whichever building you decide on, request a non-connecting room if you want quiet. The only problem I have had with noise at POFQ is when I was in a connecting room. Even with both doors shut between the rooms, you can hear plenty from the other room.

We were in Bldg 5, 2nd floor. Loved it. It was very quiet. The whole resort seemed very quiet for that matter - in early August. It's such a small resort that everything is so close - bus stop, main building, pool, etc. POFQ is our favorite mod!

Hey all, I need your help. We have never stayed at a moderate (always a value) and are going to this September because of the free dining. I have the quiet building (and even quiet rooms) down to a science at the Values but I need your help with POFQ.

Normally we stay on the top floor, corner room against traffic pattern so we can sleep in (we are not park openers for sure). I have always avoided the parking lot views and noise. So knowing this, do you have a building and or room number that you would suggest that fits the bill? :confused3

So you were able to get free dining for PoFQ -Cool! For some reason I thought POFQ was not available for free dining or room only discounts.

I am going in Feb and hoping for free dining! happy to know it is an option.

Thanks all who shared their room locations - great info to have

Those of you who got your requests did you do online checking?

Building 7 overlooking parking lot was a very quiet stay for me. Didn't hear any traffic. Overall, the resort was quieter than I expected in the lodgings areas. Perhaps all those two-story trees dampen the sound? It seemed like people were carrying on conversations in quieter tones on the way to their rooms. It was especially noticeable to me after spending a day in a park.

Am I crazy to just leave my room to chance? This is our first time at POFQ; in the past have always stayed at values. We do have a garden view room, because we needed to do that for the free dining plan. But it seems the whole resort is so small that there's really no bad spot! I did request a non-first floor room---just prefer that for the foot traffic and don't mind a flight or two of stairs.

But I'm thinking I won't make any request beyond that and just be happy with whatever I get!

When I do start to think about making a request, I can't make up my mind! Do I want to be close to the main bldg? Do I want to be quiet and further away? Do I want to be on the POR side, so we can easily walk over there? Do I want to be near the pool? So that's why I'm leaving it to fate!

DH and I stayed there on our honeymoon in 2007.

We were in building 6 facing the river. It was very quiet. I highly recommend!

We were ere last Dec and were in room 1136. It was perfect! I think it's prob one of the furthest areas from the Lobby and food court and STILL it was a whopping 3 minute walk! ;)

As everyone else has said POFQ is small...and very quaint.

It was very quiet! Some days we would get on a bus and head to a park and when we got there it was like...Where did all these people come from! LOL
It was just so peaceful at POFQ that you could easily forget you were so close to so much!
We are returning again this December! :thumbsup2

We were there last May and didn't hear our neighbors, but in the middle of the night I would sometimes hear CMs talking seemingly right outside our door. In actuality, they were outside what must've been the CM entrance to the food court, which was right across from our room -- a king/corner room in Building 4.

Aside from the overnight disturbances, POFQ was lovely!

I love POR Acadian Building Room 8042 or 8036(corner room) .. very quiet and close to bridge for the pool and North Bus Depot
