Staying at AKV next June but thinking about a split stay since we will be there for 10 nights. We'll have quite a bit of pool time so if we decide to do a split stay, I'm thinking it needs to be somewhere with a cool/fun pool!

So which pool is your favorite, or better yet, your kids favorite!?

SAB looks like fun with the ship & slide, sand bottomed pool and floats... but if you don't want to or can't book there, I love the kids play area at Kidani. The pool itself is a bit on the small side, but it has a great slide and you also have access over to Jambo House which has one of the largest pools on property.

Poly pool is pretty nice. They have an excellent play splash structure of you have younger kids still.

GFV, BLT, OKW, WLV, BWV, and SSR all have nice pools, but nothing worth switching reports over. Although SSR does have two nice feature pools with the Paddock pool having my favorite slide outside SAB.

Depends on your kids ages too. SAB is ALOT of work if you have little ones. Parts of the lazy river are 8 feet deep. The place is huge. We took our grandkids last August and they were 8-10 and we choose to not stay at BCV because we knew there was no way to keep track of the 3 girls. We also didn't like that you have to leave the pool to go to the entrance of the pirate slide. While the kids find it fun, there is no down time for the parents (or grandparents), so no relaxing at this pool unless your kids are older and you're ok with losing sight of them. We opted for BLT. While that pool is not my favorite, it also gave 2 other pools at the Contemporary.

My kids will be 14, 12 and 9 at time of travel. I'm shocked to hear about the lazy river being so deep at certain points. My kids can swim but that's still concerning. It will make me want to keep an eye on them or go in with them.

Don't forget as DVC when you stay on points you can still pool hop to the moderate hotel pools, not that that a ton of fun when your room is a car ride away, but there's that option, and some of those pools and resorts are very nice.

While I still think that dang clown is creepy as heck, the BWV pool/slide as a ton of fun!

Every pool is so great!! SAB is incredible but we love the quiet pool at BC!! And the hot tub! Always quiet when we go! Obv. we love SAB, but BWV clown pool slide is SO FUN!!! It looks corny but it is LONG!! I feel like it is the longest slide! I could and probable am wrong but it feels like it takes a long time to get down into the pool! So fun! Poly splashpad is awesome for kids! Ugh its so hard to pick one!! Theyre all great in thier own way!!

No pool at WDW can beat Stormalong Bay. It has a beautiful setting, with Beach Club, Yacht Club, and the Boardwalk in the background, and in addition to the well-themed pirate ship slide, the lazy river, water volleyball net, etc., it has 3 lovely, nature-themed hot tubs, one of which is adults-only. It's the only deluxe resort pool that has several features (bridges, windmill, etc.) within it, breaking up the pool area into separate areas, so it doesn't feel like one water-filled concrete bowl. The sand bottom adds to the natural effect.

Its lazy river does have deep areas, but that doesn't concern me as I never leave my son completely unattended at any pool. In addition, there are always several lifeguards on duty, each observing a different area.

Im actually not a fan of Stormalong bay, we prefer the Wilderness lodge. It's quiet, intimate, and the slide is pretty fun!

Stormalong Bay is awesome but we've always found it to be crowded. Many people choose to stay there solely because of SAB, and many people will build time into their schedule to use the pool since it's so nice. We like the pool at WL and it's a little less crazy, IMO.

My all time favorite pool, Hidden Springs at VWL is now gone. :( Fingers crossed the replacement pool will be just as quiet and charming, with a private feel about it.

SAB is my favorite, but the Hidden Springs pool was second. I am so happy for the memories I have of my family swimming there.

We love the Luna Park pool at BWV! On our last 9 day vacation we spent 3 full days at that pool. The keister coaster is the longest slide on property at 210' (AFAIK, please let me know if I'm wrong!) and it is far less busy than SAB. Our girls 7 and 3 loved it. They also loved the splash area at vgf, and I loved the 2 beautiful pools and huge hot tub. Kidani is also high on our list. Such a rough decision ;)
