The first night we all check in to the hotel, the family wants to go to DS for shopping and dinner. One of our family members is kind of stuck on eating at Paddlefish, because they really liked Fulton's. I keep saying that I haven't read good reviews about it.

Other than when it was Fulton's (which I personally didn't care for), we've only eaten at T-Rex w/our kids. So I'd like to hear some of your favorite picks for eating in DS please :flower:

We have a few favorites -

The Boathouse has excellent food and IMHO, I'd rather dine there than Paddlefish from what I've been hearing about Paddlefish. We also enjoy Paradiso 37 which is quite lively and loud but it's a nice change (and their margaritas are fabulous!)

Feel free to browse through my photos of both:

Wolfgang Puck is our favorite, followed closely by Raglan Road. A bit further down our list is Bongos Cuban Cafe. A lot of great dining at DS, however!

Of the new restaurants I have eaten at:

Best:
Toss up between

Morimota Asia
Frontera Cocina.

My wife would say Morimota, I say Frontera. I have eaten at one of Rick Bayless' original restaurants in Chicago and the Disney Springs version wasn't a mailed in effort.

Medium:

Homecoming: The fried chicken was amazing, but the menu was kind of funky in trying to build a balance series of courses

Paddlefish: At at the bar. Food was good, but service was abysmal. Had two bartenders who were not very attentive of the only handful of patrons at the actual bar. They spent most of their time with their backs to the customer side of the bar. Even spoke to the manager on duty.

Of the existing restaraunts I like:

House of Blues
Ragland Road
Wolfgang Pucks

Of the existing restaurants I don't like

Paradiso 37
Bongo's

For the remainder

I like Portobello Yacht Club, but from understanding they are soon to close for a refurbishment

Haven't tried:

STK
Boathouse
Planet Hollywood Observatory.

Though I've seen some "eh" reviews of Paddlefish, I've read a lot more that loved the food. Paddlefish & Boathouse are on the $$$ end. Homecomin' & Frontera a bit lower $$, with the same eh & fantastic sentiments. Morimoto is really divisive. Good to excellent food but service issues. We enjoyed Raglan Rd on two trips. We'd go again if there weren't so many new places to try!

Look at the menus and I think the majority should rule if you all insist on staying together. Honestly, I'd be ok with splitting up and then meeting up afterwards. That way there won't be hard feelings from anyone and each is responsible for their own choice.

My husband and I love Morimoto. Their spare ribs are amazing. I have heard awesome things about Homecomin' as well.

Frontera Cocina doesn't get much love on the boards, I'd love to hear some more of your thought on it, we love Mexican food

We enjoyed Homecoming. Thought the fried chicken was some of the best!
The fried chicken and donuts specifically.. And the Mac and cheese, yum
We read excellent reviews about Frontera though so we are trying that this August

when we were there last time there weren't a ton of restaurants open so we only got to try two. We tried the Boathouse....which if you like seafood...is a MUST! really, really good food with good sized portions. Lots of lobster on the menu for a decent price. We also tried Raglan r, which is an Irish restaurant. portion are pretty good sized but I found the food bland. There are a whole lot of other places to try now and I'm going to do my best to try as many as I can! Treat it like a foodie adventure...go for it!

All of my kids want to eat at Morimoto but, since they'll likely want the starters, I'm going to save a few bucks and we're going to try them at the Street Food QS. They're eyeing the ribs, bao, and egg rolls. For young kids, they can pack away the food! We have another afternoon at DS planned and will eat in the restaurant then, if they haven't changed their mind. DH and I were hoping to try this and that at different places, so we're calling the shots on arrival day.

Thank you everyone for the input, it's much appreciated. I think that I'm really liking what I'm seeing and hearing about Homecoming! So that is definitely going on my list!

As far as sit downs go. Love Splittsville, Portabello, Morrimoto, Wolfgang Puck Express, and Raglan Road. Boathouse was ok but too loud. STK was ok but even Louder. Will be trying Homecoming and Paddlefish next month so will weigh in on that then.

Frontera Cucina has more authentic regional dishes than your standard Mexican restaurant around the corner that serves you typical "combo" plate of three enchiladas, rice/ beans and a guac/salad dip. Mind you Frontera does have an enchilidas and taco choice but even they are a notch above.

If you are expecting a more Tex Mex experience then try Paradiso 37. However I have tried it 2 times, and I was not impressed. so haven't brought my wife to it.

We loved Paradiso 37 for food, service, and atmosphere. We surprisingly really enjoyed House of Blues too.

QS: Earl of Sandwich! Always worth the wait, that Holiday Sandwich appears in my dreams!!

-Ragland Road is one of our favorites, the food's ALWAYS good, service is great, and the beer flights are the real winners here, create your own of 4 different, decent size pours for $10, thank you!
-Morimoto Asia was amazing! Great food quality, great service, we really liked it here!a
