We are thinking about spending a day at WDW before our cruise. My kids will be 8 and 12 when we go. Magic Kingdom is out, been there before, plus we have disneyland here in CA which is basically the same! So, between all the other parks, which is your favorite?

Hi,
well out of the other 3 parks I would say MGM would be my choice. There are plenty of things to do there for the ages of your kids.
Epcot has 3 rides and after that most kids get bored around the worlds area. Animal Kingdom if fun too, the new roller coaster Everest is there. But overall I think MGM would be best for a good variety of things to do.

If you do MGM be sure and stay for Fantasmic at night. it is an awesome show with lazer effects, fireworks, characters and more. You must arrive up to an hour before show time to get a seat, but well worth it. Even though the seats on the edges look like they would have a bad view, they dont. Things are set up so all seats have a very good view.
Just bring a snack and sit and relax and visit and the hour will pass quickly.

I'm sure what ever you choose you will have a great time!!!

I agree with MGM. I really enjoy MGM myself and there are good opportunities for character pics!

Since you live near DL, I'd suggest Epcot. The reason is that when I visited DL last year (Imagine, visiting DS in Entertainment, performing in front of the castle every day-Mom wasn't TOO teary-eyed), the one thing I really missed was Epcot, particularly WS. It's so hard to select a favorite theme park, since I love them all (well, almost all-not MGM), but I'd say Epcot.

I LOVELOVELOVE Epcot! I accompanied DH on a convention to Orlando last year, and my only request was to stay at the Disney Beach/Yacht club so I could walk into Epcot and spend the day. I was in heaven!

He even played hooky from the convention one day to enjoy Epcot. We just love that park, it is so beautiful, the restaurants are great, so much to do there.

It's not the favorite for our children - they're teens and 20's - so they love MGM and still Magic Kingdom. That'll never change! But when it's just their dad and I - it's Epcot for us.

Disney/MGM. Not only will your kids like it but there is plenty for adults to enjoy also. IMHO the best park for families to spend the day together.

Epcot by far! It has a lot for every age, and there is more then 3 rides. You have test track, mission space, Ellens energy ride, you have soaring, figment, the land, and 2 boat rides in the world showcase. Is there any ride I forgot yes spaceship earth or the big golfball as a lot of people refer to it.LOL You also have Illumination in the evening. A few shows like Honey I shrunk the audiance and the American dream. Good luck on your choice and have fun

Not only is EPCOT my favorite park, it's my teens' favorite as well, and has been since they were young. They are enthralled with strolling through World Showcase and taking it all in ... we could live there!

MGM - We usually leave after riding ToT & RnRC. I think we stayed for Fantasmic once (which is awesome), but we tend to get bored there pretty quick. Epcot is really interesting, and I love AK because the atmosphere is so neat...you feel like you're in a rainforest.

But, if it were up to me, I would probably choose to spend the day at Blizzard Beach!

I would pick Epcot or Animal Kingdom. MGM is VERY similar to DCA. I love Animal Kingdom especially with the addition of Expedition Everest and now the Finding Nemo show. And Epcot has a lot to offer with rides, shows and dining that any age would enjoy.

Epcot is by far my favorite park - the kids will love the rides, aquarium, dinasaurs, etc.. I like it because it not only gives thrills with rides but also challenges the mind with the technology, games, etc.. My kids loved it when they were young! :bounce:

Excluding MK, EPCOT is our fave. We love the World Showcase and Soarin is awesome.

I really like MK the best.

If a choice must be made ( excluding MK ), I would go to Epcot. You have many choices of entertainment not to mention the choices of food in WS.

I live here in SanDiego and like you always go to DL. I would say go to MGM or Epcot also. Have you ever been to WDW? Go to WDW.com and stoll through the parks on top will give you all info you will need to compare. If your going in the summer than I would also go for Blizzard beach. Either way you will have a great time!!!! :)

I love MGM Studios the best, then EPCOT, so it would be a toss up. Both of the parks have a few rides that are similar/same as ones at DCA. I would look at which rides interest you and head to that park.

Since we've been to WDW before, we had a chance 3 years ago to go for the day and did all our fav's at each park, including MK. It was fantastic, but quite the marathon!

No matter what you choose - enjoy!
