What is your favorite brand of makeup or beauty product?

Aloe Barbasol shaving cream. :) Haha!

Hey, I use the same shaving cream as SSB!! Only I bet he isn't shaving his legs and I'm not shaving my face! LOL

I use Cetaphil cleanser also. I think it is the best I have used and as a cosmetogist, I have access & have used a lot of products.
I love Bare Escentuals. I use Clinique concealor because nobody has dark circles as bad as mine and it seems to do best. I haven't found the perfect mascara though!

I am a MAC girl. All my makeup, except for my mascara (which is Loreal) is MAC. I have tried others, and it just didn't work for me. That said, I use Cetaphil cleanser for my face, and Blue Copper moisturizer, but all my "makeup" is from MAC.

Yes I love MAC. As far as lipstick though, I only use Max Factor Lipfinitey.

I swear by Bare Escentuals. I started wearing it about 3 years ago, and I'll never (and I mean NEVER) put any other type of make up on my face. I have 3 people at work and my grandmother and aunt now using it. They swear by it, too.

I use Philosophy skin care products. They are a little pricey, but they're wonderful. You can find them at Sephora (at the mall and online, as well as QVC). I tried using Estee products, but they didn't agree with my skin.

I swear by the 3 step Clinique program.

I also use their makeup. Don't buy a TON of it, but probably spend about $200 a year of skin care and makeup. I ALWAYS shop their bonus time, as it's a good way to try new shadow colors, etc.

Just last year I started wearing makeup. I'm using BeautiControl makeup and skin care. It hasn't bothered my sensitive skin at all. I had been using Olay for moisturizer and cleaning, but it would cause too many dry spots on my face.

I to just recently started wearing make up (40's) was just wearing mascara and eyeliner. Now I am hooked on all the Loreal products and also their moisturizer, was using Estee Lauder, but I just think those dept. store brands are way over priced. My problem at first was trying to figure out what was my best foundation color!

I like Kiehl's skincare stuff, and I use their cleanser, moisturizer, and mud mask.

For makeup I use some MAC (studio fix and lipsticks - I can't live without Ruby Woo or Siren), Lorac and/or Stila eyeshadows, Dior mascara (I used to use Borghese but can't find the darned stuff now :( ), and good old Maybelline pencil for my eyeliner (I'm so old skool, I still light the tip before I use it. LOL!)

I don't wear much makeup (unlike my teen days) but when I do I prefer Prescriptives base and cover cream. Their colormatching system is terrific and they have some very light formulas of makeup base. You'd hardly know you are wearing anything.

Blush is my thing. Last year I found Cargo Colortube. It's a cream that can be worn on your cheeks, lips or eyes. It's very natural looking. Sephora sells it. If I want a powder I often use either Neutrogena or Cover Girl.

For lip color I like Revlon, Neutrogena and Clinique mostly. My eye makeup, shadow and liner, is from Clinique.

Skin care is a mixed bag too. I like the La Therapie line of products I first bought on a Cruise. Their website is timetospa.com. I also use Estee Lauder's Fruition and Night Repair. My favorite face moisturizer is Olay with sunscreen, though I have others.

I like Lancome's foundation and correcteur concealer...but I'll only buy when you get a "gift with purchase". When it comes to blush and eyeshadows, I'll go with whoever has good colors.

I think Paula Begoun's books are full of great advice! The cosmetics industry is rife with overstated claims about everything from wrinkles to acne and she gives straight forward info about it all.

I love MAC products, some Clinique (especially concealer), and Mary Kay.

I have to say I am a cosmetics junkie, but have seriously cut down on puchasing worthless products since I have read Paula's books. BTW, the Clinique 3 step system is pretty harsh on skin, there is a lot of alcohol in the toners.

Let's just say that if they sold Mascara in gallon jugs, I'd be in. If the tube says non clumping I'm not interested. All joking aside, Lancome is my fave, forever and alllllllll time. I have not purchased lipstick, eyeshadow,or eye makeup remover in atleast15 years because I also use their foundation and blush and time my purchase with their gift with purchase at all the major dept stores. And fyi Loreal and Lancome are made by the same company

Biotherm is also made by that company. Every year they have a huge invitation-only factory sale where they sell the stuff dirt cheap. My friend went last year and I ended up with lots of Lancome and Biotherm goodies for the holidays :bitelip:

Can I do a small correction to your post and a HUGE Thank YOU! It's www.makeupalley.com and I have been trying to remember forever what that site was! I used to have it bookmarked and then lost my computer and all on it to lightening. Thanks so much for posting it. :D
Thanks I fixed it. I might add one thing I like about the cosmeticconnection.com is the people that do the reviews let you know their skin type, skin coloring & favorites.

First of all let me say that I have never been a real "make-up" person - I have always bought things here and ther that were on sale - I have never worn eyeliner... I should say that I work from home so the need to be "made up" is rarely there.

Just recently starting thinking that some sort of beauty/skincare regimine would definitely not hurt (and this may be an aging thing- aaagh!!).

So - I have started using the "3-step" products from Clinique but as for any other make up - I have nothing. Any suggestions on product lines?? I am thinking that I would like to stick with 1 brand.

Thanks,

I use Avon and have ever since I can remember. I love it and I don't like most other makeup brands. I also won't spend the prices of brands like Clinique because I don't think its worth it for the VERY small amount of time I wear makeup.

Elizabeth Arden here....

oh, but Clinique mascara is the only one I'm not allergic to.

I have Always used Avon
and for the past 7 years now, I have SOLD Avon as well
I AM my BEST customer !!! and with the discounts I get....

AWESOME !!!

Can you believe I have never in my life worn makeup?! LOL, the only thing I wear is Cherry Chapstick. My best friend is talking about an intervention and a trip to the "makeover counter" whatever the heck that is?!

Im cheap. I've used higher price stuff when they have a great bonus offer, and they're all just the same to me. I should say that I don't have sensitive skin at all, and realize that some people really do have to pay big bucks for stuff that won't irritate their skin. But mine cares less.

I wear CoverGirl foundation and powder. I have some Clinique blush from a bonus offer that I use, but I usually just use Maybelline or Cover Girl. Maybelline mascara. $1 cheap black eyeliner pencil (tried all the liquids and stuff and can't master them!).

And I'm in love with Burt's Bees new lip shimmers- I don't wear lipstick anymore just this! Great Burt's Bees lipwax, combined with a bit of color. I buy it at Bath and Body Works for $3.50 a tube - cheaper than most lipsticks.
