First of all let me say that I have never been a real "make-up" person - I have always bought things here and ther that were on sale - I have never worn eyeliner... I should say that I work from home so the need to be "made up" is rarely there.

Just recently starting thinking that some sort of beauty/skincare regimine would definitely not hurt (and this may be an aging thing- aaagh!!).

So - I have started using the "3-step" products from Clinique but as for any other make up - I have nothing. Any suggestions on product lines?? I am thinking that I would like to stick with 1 brand.

Thanks,

I like to use Mary Kay 3 in 1 cleanser and moisturizer for my daily care. As for makeup I use Estee Lauder products and have been very happy with them. They are a little on the pricey side, but well worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for starting this topic.

I am in the market for a good undereye concealer. I had eye surgery a few weeks ago that has left me with a nice "black eye" that will take a few weeks to disappear, so I am looking for something to make it look a bit less "obvious" I tried ESTEE concealer but it just isn't doing it for me.

I use lots of different products. I love the Benefit line. Sephora sells all of their products and they are not too outrageously priced. Right now I really love their "Georgia" blush which is a great peachy color and the "Lemon Aid" concealer is a miracle worker.:) I have also been using Kohls new American Beauty line (which is an offshoot of Estee Lauder) their products are really great and a little less expensive than Estee Lauder. I think the best part of makeup is experimenting and trying different things you just never know what you'll try and fall in love with. Have fun playing with different brands and products!

Perscriptives camoulage cream works well for me. If I don't get enough sleep it looks like I have two black eyes!

My best makeup buy is Nars blush (the colour is called Orgasm). It's very soft and flatering. I also like Lancome eyeshadow and mascara.

First off you should read the book "Dont go to the cosmetic counter without me" by Paula Begoun I've seen it at the library, and I've also read parts of it at Barnes and Noble before...

Now that being said I still love Bare Minerals, I know there is a Dis poster who helps run a fantastic delphi forum... it is a product I didnt think would work and went to an Ultra Store to try it out... I have age spots and I went there to try the derma blend product, I hate people telling me I have dirt on my face... the dermablend yuck, bare minerals - WOW!!

and I never had good luck with Clinique, and I've spent lots on cosmetics, even after reading Paula's book!!

I am a MAC girl. All my makeup, except for my mascara (which is Loreal) is MAC. I have tried others, and it just didn't work for me. That said, I use Cetaphil cleanser for my face, and Blue Copper moisturizer, but all my "makeup" is from MAC.

I really like the Olay moisturizers - I found they worked just as well as more expensive products. My favourite make-up product: Maybelleen (sp?) Mascara (in the pink tube)

I like Lancome.... but really can't afford it.... I'm a beauty product "Bimbo" and will go with whoever has the best current offer!! :earseek:

I love Clinique. All my make up is Clinique as well as my cleansing products etc. I love the Clinique advanced signs aging cream. It is great for getting rid of the lines under my eyes. I even use Clinique fake tan and clinique sun tan lotion and after sun in the summer!!

I did not care for Paulas book. I felt she pushed her own products. goto www.makeupalley.com & www.cosmeticconnection.com There is alot of reviews on those sites.

I am looking forward to the American Beauty line at Kohls.

Check out the Osco/Save-on adds on Sundays they always have a least 1 brand 40 to 50% off & You can return used products..

I did use scrictly Mary Kay, but now I'm mainly using their skincare and trying some new brands like Bare Escentuals. I just got some of it and I like it so far. There are a few others I want to try as well, like Smashbox and Mac. I just want to have some fun since I'm not an MK rep anymore. :D

I only use SpectraDerm products for cleansing and moistering (after being dx with roscea) and my skin has never looked better.

Another vote for Mac makeup it is awesome and so affordable. I also wear Kiss Me mascara which is a wonderful product for persons who can't wear normal mascara (sensitive eyes, contact lenses). Never again will I have raccoon eyes. It is amazing

Can I do a small correction to your post and a HUGE Thank YOU! It's www.makeupalley.com and I have been trying to remember forever what that site was! I used to have it bookmarked and then lost my computer and all on it to lightening. Thanks so much for posting it. :D

Another MAC girl here. I use MAC everything. It's a great line and the MAC artists are absolutely wonderful. We have our favorite girl, Laura, and she helps us out everytime we are at the counter.

While I mainly use MAC Pro Lash for mascara, I use Prescriptives False Eyelashes for going out and such. It is a great mascara but a tad pricey. But if you have thinner eyelashes, which I do, this mascara really helps to thicken and lengthen them.

I use cover girl aqua foundation
nivea mosturizer
avon glimmersticks eyeliner - if you've never tried eyeliner this one is great goes on so easy. back in the day we used to heat our eyelines with a lighter to melt it slightly to make it go on like these do.
the stuff at target from sonia kashuk is really good too

good luck just keep trying stuff till you find something you really like
I have tried all of it over the years. Clinque, Lancome, avon, mary kay, maybelline, covergirl, and the list goes on and on
