My favourite Christmas Carol is Away in A Manger, it always makes my eyes fill up, especially when children are singing it. Now Christmas Songs are a bit harder cos I love most of them like Merry Christmas Everybody (Slade), Don't They Know It's Christmas (Band Aid) and Oh I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday!! (Wizzard)

So what are your favourite songs ??

My fave hymm is Oh come all ye faithfull and my fave songs are the same as Mandy's!

Anna, my DD's have that Destiny's Child album and they love it too.

Jingle bells is mine. I work in a pre school and the children start learning their songs at the beginning of november(they give a small carol concert for the parents) and always get sooo excited when singing this song makes me go all mushy they really get you into the spirit of christmas!

Hark the Herald Angels Sing for me!

I had to sing a solo of Away in a Manager for school choir once in Church and it's never been the same since :rotfl:

My fav Christmas Carol is Away In A Manager.

Favourite Christmas song is Band Aid's, Do They Know Its Christmas. Second fav is Blue Christmas by Elvis.

I love them all, traditional and modern. If I had to pick favourites they would be "O Holy Night", "Silent night" and "Let it Snow" but the best is "Carol of the Bells".
My DH's favourite is "Merry Christmas Darling" by The Carpenters. In fact the whole Carpenters Christmas Album is lovely, gets you very much in the mood.
We are in an Operatics Society and a couple of years ago we did 'Mr. Scrooge' a musical version of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Dressed up in Victorian regala and singing all the traditional Xmas carols with fake snow falling around you really was very nostalgic and definately gave you that Christmasy feeling.

I downloaded some crimb songs from ITunes today. I can listen to them whilst I am at the gym dreaming of all the crimbo sweeties :teeth:

I've always liked "Once in Royal Davids City" It always reminds me of Carol Services when I was in Primary School :)

As far as non Hymns go I would say Wham and Last Christmas is probably one of my favourites.

Traditional: Joy To The World
Modern: Tennesee Christmas
Comical: Grandma Got Run Over By A Raindeer
Choral: The Messiah!!!!!
(I really love all the rest of them too!)

Another vote here for Once in Royal Davids city :) DD hasn't stopped singing one about 3 kings (not the one i know), She has told me its for the carol concert in school.

Silent Night.

Do they know it's christmas time.

I love Christmas carols! :)

My favourites are probably O Holy Night, Carol of the Bells, In the Bleak Midwinter, and Silent Night (actually I prefer the German version, Stille Nacht!).

Some songs I remember from school are lovely, too. I really like Do You Hear What I Hear? (I remember playing the bongoes to that song during a Christmas concert when I was about nine!) and also On A Starry Night and a song written by my old music teacher, called Christmas For Everyone, which I'm sure nobody will have heard of! ;)

As for actual pop songs, I really really love Fairytale of New York by Kirsty MacColl (RIP :() and The Pogues, plus lots of others (most of them very cheesy indeed).

Firstly the question seemed easy but then sitting reading through the responses I kept saying oh yes that one is one of my favorites so I've come to the conclusion that I like all Christmassy songs :teeth:

Fave christmas Carol? why me of course!!! :goodvibes
no seriously has to be traditional - silent night, modern - white christmas( Bing Crosby) and funny, fairy tale of new york! (the Pogues and Kirsty Maccoll)

I love most Christmas Hymn type songs (O come all ye faithful, silent night, winter wonderland etc.)

Song wise, I love Baby it's cold outside.
Me and DH were watching Elf the other day (fantastic film!!! - watched it twice in one weekend the other day!!) and we had the words up so we could sing along with it.
