What is your dogs name and why?

My dogs name is Riley. I've always loved that name for a boy (of course now I would use it for a girl, too!). But when I was pregnant with DD2, DH and I agreed that the baby's name would be Riley Alexander if it was a boy. Needless to say, we got a Taylor Marie (I really did want another girl anyway!).

When we got our dog, I said to my husband - Can I have my Riley now????

And so it goes!!

If we ever have a boy that is our name too! Riley Alexander after DH grandfather .....he never had any bilogical children of his own....(MIL father died when she was little)....he is now 94 and dying of cancer....our luck is now we will have our son....I concieced DD right b/4 my grandmother passed away and promised her we would name our daughter after her..Samantha Lee...Samilee. Hopefully they know!

Booda, the night before we "found" Booda in the paper we were at the pet store, we didn't have a dog at the time but I was checking out the doggie toys when I picked up this really cute plush toy and across it's belly it said "booda"... so the next morning we were looking in the paper and this man had puppies who needed homes, we went right over and a week later we took little 5 week old Booda home for good! =o)
He could fit in my hand then, now he is 75+ pounds and is a little over a year old.

Tommy the Green Ranger is his reg. name we got him when DS was 4 and the Power Rangers were big back then .
The dogs name has changed a little he comes to Tommy or Thomas Allen . He picked up Allen because I dated a guy who turned out to be a dog and i never wanted to forget that mistake . It is funny and Dh laughes everytime I call the dog.

We have a 7 yr old Silky Terrier named Shadow.........the kids named him when we got him, and he has lived up to his name (at least to me, since I am his "person").......he follows me everywhere! When we first got him, he was only 3 pounds, and he used to sit on my shoes when I was at the sink, or stove. I had to be very careful not to step on the little guy.

Our yorkie is named Maggie. My DH named her...I just asked him why and he said "it just sounded good".

Our Corgi is named Milo. I picked his name just because I liked it. No special reason.

My childhood dog (who was put to sleep 2 years ago yesterday ) I named Puff because when we got him as a puppy he was a big puff of fur!

we have golden retrievers that were litter mates, a male and a female. dd was trying to name them when we got them and all she could think of were couples' names and we thought that was a little weird for brother and sister, so i started thinking of twins names and hit upon luke and leia, dd was in kindergarten and we were just introducing her to the star wars experience, so that's what got pinned on them.

We adopted a Blue Great Dane and she was already named "Liberty". We liked that name, but I added a little to it. She is now "Liberty Belle". She was born September 2001, so I think Liberty is of special significance.

Our dog's name was Sugar. We named her that because when my husband and I were first together my sister used to tease us and always call him my sugar daddy because he was always buying me nice things. When we bought her we decided to call her sugar right away. She was the best and sweetest dog. Unfortunately she passed away from cancer this past September.

Grendel is named after the villain in Beowulf (and the fact that she eats anything in sight).

We have a german shepard named Xander. I think Vin Diesel is HOT and I loved the XXX movie. DH let me name him since he had named our other dog.
Our other dog (a wolf hybrid) was named Tatum. DH named him that because I wanted to name our DD Tatum and he hated the name for a girl. I named DD Remy instead. Tatum died from heart worms last year.

Z esty - very zesty, peppy dog
O rris - means silver lace and she is silver in color
E ncore - she is our second Cocker

My first dog, a maltese was named Caycee simply because I liked that name. Caycee died in November and we now have a solid black Miniature Schnauzer. We searched German girl names and found Karlee (thought it kinda went with Caycee - they were together for 6 months before Caycee died). Both names suited our dogs great.

My toy poodle is named Petey Joseph. Petey because my DH and I couldn't agree on any other name (I wanted to call him Spike) and Joseph after my grandpa who was the single greatest human being I have ever known.
