What is your Disney shameful secret?

My shameful secrets:----

I actually enjoy the 'pre drop ride' on Splash Mountain....

I always tap my feet at the Parades and hope nobody sees.....

And my worse one...I used to enjoy my ex-girlfriend buying soft toys because they make great pillows!!!

I saw people with lime green mickey heads at WDW in January and didn't speak to them. Even when stood next to them in the queue for 10minutes waiting to get into epcot!

My secret is that Disney to me is now, in this order:

Shopping offsite at the lovely Malls
Sunbathing around the quiet pool at OKW
Copious amounts of cocktails
Eating nice food in Disney restaurants
Watching the evening parades and fireworks

I like the parks but find them less appealing now. Hope my family never read this!!

Lol think i would be the same :thumbsup2

I grew up loving the Disney Classic movies and made DW (when we were just going out) queue for The Lion King. We were the only adults without kids :)

I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to my first Disney park - Disneyland Paris. The rest as they say is history including a fantastic 14 night trip to DLP :goodvibes

Magic Kingdom was such a disappointment and I wanted it not to be so :sad1: I could happily not go back on any WDW trip. Okay Carousel of Progress and Jungle Cruise excepted :)

Surprised that we all loved Universal and Island of Adventure. Went there expecting it to be 2nd rate compared to Disney.

I have been buying Disney music and movies all my life. Bought the videos, LPs, dvd's, cd's, blu ray's and mp3's. Next stop digital downloads :thumbsup2

some great ones there:lmao:

- I think the Carosseul of progress is a waste of good space in Tomorrowland, apparently i can't even be bothered to spell it correctly;)
-I take great delight in embarassing my daughter by having whole conversations with characters and interacting to get reactions from them
- I sing along through all the musical shows and all the way out if the music is still playing, Lion king, voyage of the little mermaid, beauty and the beast etc
-I only take newbies on Its a small world as i tell them its something they have to do and watch them get irritated hee hee
-I cry as soon as i see Mickey mouse come out on stage at fantasmic, also when tink flies from the castle in Wishes
-I wore my birthday badge all week just so i could get the fuss and goodies:cool1:
-I cant go on the teacups as they make me feel really ill, my children think this one is hilarious:sick:

ooh edited to add that I do in fact wear my lime green DIS button that i have had for 5 years every time i go to the parks and accost anybody who shows signs of lime green or the mickey head, i am more cautous these days as apparently lime green t-shirts are actually fashionable in the USA, its everywhere lol

All these GF haters :rotfl: the thing I feel most guilty about is the fact we're spending over $900 a night to stay there! I don't think it's snobby at all, just as magical and princessy as a place could be.

I don't like the Poly!
I missed a Le Cellier ADR! :(
I don't really like World Showcase.
I think the Ellen Ride should be closed down.
I'm way too scared to risk Summit Plummet!
I would rather not go than stay in a value.
I cry at the MK opening show, even just watching it on youtube!
I'm scared of talking to face characters.
I was too excited to eat a Cafe Mickey atthe prospect of meeting Minnie!
The only thing I prefer at DLRP is POTC. But I would happily never visit DLRP again if I could get to WDW as easily and quickly.

I have never had a dole whip or a toll house cookie sandwich : (
I have never stayed on site at a Disney resort in WDW : (
I have never eaten in a high end Disney restaurant at WDW : (

of course I intend to put all of the above right on my next trip :goodvibes

I cry at all the firework shows and have been known to even cry sometimes in the Disney Store if they play the right music :goodvibes

Oooh - AND I don't like dole whip floats. I love pineapple more than anyone I know, but they are just tooo sweet! A root bear float is much more appetising!

I'm beginning to feel like a bit of a doofuss having worn my LGMH all holiday in October - even during MNSSHP.

I think I'll leave it at home next time.

- I think the Carosseul of progress is a waste of good space in Tomorrowland, apparently i can't even be bothered to spell it correctly;)

Seems I am in the minority. I like the face that this ride relates back to Walt Disney and the World Trade Fair :)

Really?! What makes you so scornful towards values? :rotfl: Have you stayed in one before?

Nope, just couldn't.

I have a mega hotel phobia. Ask Jack, before we go anywhere I have to know exactly what my room will be like, what the lobby is like, where it is, read as many reviews as possible, know it's safe and not noisy etc.

I just couldn't look forward to my trip staying somewhere that people have told me bad things about.

Also for me at least 50% of the joy of going away is staying in a wonderful hotel. I am very much not part of the "it's only somwhere to sleep" camp.

I think it's my parents doing as they won't stay anywhere not 5* lol.

AK is our least favourite park - I could do EE and KS, then leave.
I love the Carousel of Progress song!
I don't like 'Ohana
I've only seen IllumiNations once
I'm a Disney snob :teeth:

I get what you're saying but 4* and 5* hotels get bad reviews too. I'm staying at the New York Palace in April (4.5*) and that has a fair few bad reviews. I personally wouldn't write somewhere off until I'd stayed there myself (unless it got horrific reviews, obviously!).

I like nice hotels too and I'm generally a very fussy person but I enjoyed my time at Pop in 2008. It was very clean with lovely grounds and a great shop/food court. I'm not saying I'd necessarily stay there again, especially after staying at CSR last year and SSR this year, but I'd still recommend it. Besides, all the values are different, some are better than others.

Would you ever stay offsite?

Ried, i tried i really did, i have been on it twice, and I do understand the historical connection and i hope it is preserved in some way, I was just soo bored:confused3 And i wanted to like it so badly for the very reason you've given above, sorry:hug:

I think it's just the same as someone saying they'd never stay at the GF/don't like the GF, but just the other end of the spectrum.

I know Torsie has stayed at AKL - I've stayed at ASMo, and then after staying at POFQ, and then the Poly, I'd find it hard going back to a value. When you've started out at the top, I bet it's just as hard. Obviously this is a special trip for us so we're staying all deluxes, but as long as we can afford it, we'll be staying at the deluxes. We usually go for 3 weeks, so for us too it's much more than a place to kip - we love the deluxe amenities.

And I guess I'm not ashamed to admit, I'm a bit of Disney snob ;)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm like you: my first visit in 2008 was at Pop, then CSR in 2009 and SSR later this year. Hopefully I'll feel able to go back to a moderate or even a value after August, as I'd like to stay at all the hotels eventually. :thumbsup2
