What is Your Christmas breakfast Menu?

We will be eating whatever is served at Cinderellas Royal Table for breakfast on Christmas morning:cool1::banana::dance3:
I reserved this one very early and hope DD3 is wearing the huge smile on her face then that she has everytime we talk about it!

I believe this recipe came from Taste of Home. It is HEAVENLY! :cloud9:

Blueberry Morning Glory:
.

I"ve made this for years and we LOVE it! It DID come from Taste of Home. I just use milk instead of the 1/2 and 1/2 and it turns out just fine. Cuts down a little on the calories because I use 2%. I also think that my original recipe calls for a dozen eggs. Every time I take it somewhere it gets rave reviews. Although once a woman asked for the recipe and then had a cow about how many eggs were in it. I'm like...Hello? It's about 1 egg per person. :confused3

I too make Paula Dean's Breakfast casserole. I cut the Praline topping in half though. I also have made it with Challah bread and it is so much better than the French bread. It's a great recipe, and the aroma of it baking while opening presents makes Christmas morning special.

We have breakfast while watching the Disney Parade!!

Typically either scrambled eggs or omletts, cinnamon rolls, orange rolls, bacon, sometimes we break out the waffle maker, other times we had croissants or blueberry muffins. We also usually have ribbon jello- layer of red and green jellow with a white middle of chreamcheese, pineapple and some other things that make it sweet and creamy!! OJ, coffee, hot chocolalte - we just slowly graze through it. We dont have any kids unfortunately, so we just take our time munching - lol.

Im interested in the french toast casserole thing- is the bread soggy like or ?

I make up a egg bake or baked french toast the night before and pop it in the oven Christmas moring. Looks like I have to play Santa this year. My DH works 3rd and won't be home til 8am. We'll open presents with the kids then eat and have my Mom over for ham dinner.

I plan on making my first paula deen french toast casserole. Can you make it without the pecans?? Will it still taste okay? We have some people that are allergic to pecans.

I second this question, I'm not a huge fan of nuts...

French Vanilla Hot Chocolate with Buttershots
Regular Hot Chocolate with Godiva
Dark Hot Chocolate with Raspberry Vodka

oh, and plain Hot Chocolate for the kids.

There may be some pastries in there too.

If you like these, you have to try the hot chocolate with the whipped cream flavored vodka and carmel liquor-YUMMMMYYYYY! The whipped cream vodka is awesome!

Yes, you can! :santa: I've done it several times without and it's still super yummy! A lot of the time I just skip the sauce altogether and just do regular maple syrup.

I also sometimes get all fancy pants and make Egg Nog French Toast casserole on Christmas morning. All I do is substitute Egg Nog for whatever cream/milk that is called for. I use it on Paula Deens recipe and holy moley it's goooood!!

I either do homemade cinammon rolls which I make the night before or banana stuffed french toast (Oh, so good) and then scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage.

With a family of only my husband and my son and myself we don't do anything too big.. Because our big meal is at 2:00pm and it is extravagent.. but, this year I think I will make that egg/bread casserole.. We will see..

We always have Christmas Tree Bread. I've never seen it anywhere else, but I think my grandmother started it in our family. It is slightly sweet yeast rolls that you bake in a tree shape. Then generously drizzle icing (milk, powdered sugar & vanilla) and sprinkle with red and green sugars. NOM!
Last year we added bacon and mimosas to the table.

For years I always made some sort of egg strata/casserole but we are not big breakfast eaters and there was always tons left. I did it cause I thought I should, not because anyone liked it. Last year I made bagel, egg, cheese, and sausage sandwiches with fruit. Easy and everyone liked it. I think this year I may get a variety of bagels so if the boys just want a chocolate bagel and no egg they can do that. Dh always wants protein at breakfast so I will still have the eggs and sausage for him. :lovestruc

MMMMM everything sounds so yummy.

Ya know, I never really thought of doing anything "special" for a Christmas morning breakfast.

With all these ideas, I think I'll have to make something.

I am all about keeping it simple. I would much rather be mingling with the family on Xmas Eve or Xmas morning than cooking. So we keep it as simple as possible. We go to my sis's house right after opening gifts and stay all day. My kids LOVE playing with their cousins all day long. Anyway - we've always been in charge of breakfast and get a sheet-sized breakfast pizza (from Wegmans) and a couple dozen bagels. YUM and easy as can be. Pretty funny - My dd7 was just saying the other day how she can't wait for breakfast pizza on Xmas! So it is a tradition that is loved!

Oh and for those wondering how I get a made to order pizza on Xmas day...I order it a couple days before and pick it up on Xmas Eve when I go in for my 'last minute essentials'. No worries about it going bad - just leave it in the car in the 'freezer' (ie: garage since it is about 10 degrees here now) overnight and throw it on a couple cookie sheets in the morning to warm in the oven.

This is my first year hosting. My mom has always done it in the past, but it's hard w/a 2 yr old to have her open her presents at home and then go straight to grandma's and not be able to play. I just made my menu:

Bacon
Scrambled Eggs w/ and w/out cheese
Eggs over easy and toast for my picky DH
Pillsbury cinnamon rolls
Waffles
Banana Pancakes
Parmesan potato pancakes

DH nixed my fruit salad due to cost.

We make a sausage and egg casserole (overnight version), scones and grilled stickies from State College, PA.

I also do the overnight casserole made with french bread, eggs, cheddar cheese and bacon served with a fruit salad. My parents come to our house mid-morning and always bring the most amazing gingerbread muffins filled with cream cheese frosting. My kids don't like the casserole, so they always have a bowl of Rice Krispies with red and green sugar sprinkles and hot chocolate that they stir with a candy cane from their stocking.

But, I don't know that Paula Deen french toast sounds pretty amazing...:santa:

Ours is Mickey pancakes, sausage, and homemade hot chocolate. We have been having this for years.
