I know some of you have it worked out to the penny what is a good deal for things like rolls of toilet paper and price per diaper. I was wondering what your "buy it" price is for various items. Of course, anything that works out to being free is best, but at what price do you stock up on specific items?

Cereal = $1/box.
Razors = free
Toothbrushes = $1 or less
Milk = $2.75 is an awesome price where I live.
Yogurt =$.40
Bread = $1/loaf

Those are just a few I came up with quickly - those are the prices that I would definitely buy for, and try to strive for when couponing. If I can get it for 65% or more percent off, I stock up. 50% off is good on some things but some other items seem to be 50% (or B1G1) all the time.

I'll buy cereal @ $2.00 box, not a great price but an ok one.
Milk $2
pop $5/24 pack for pepsi

These are the prices for basics that I try not to pay more for...

Milk... $2/gal regular or $4/gal organic
Fruit... $1.50/lb or under (depending on the fruit and seasonability of course... bananas, $.39/lb... organics obviously more)
Cereal... $1/box
Bread... $2/loaf regular whole wheat, $3/loaf organic whole wheat
Soda... $2/case (regular size - I think 12 packs? we don't drink of often but like to have a few on hand for visitors)
Diapers... $3-4/pack (since the amount of diapers in a pack lessens as the sizes go up)
Meat... half off or more (depending on the type/cut)
Shredded cheese... $1/bag (regular size)

For personal items (deoderant, oral care, lotion, hair care), I stock up when I see a great deal, but I don't know the prices... best like you said is free or darn close to it, so I try to buy enough when that happens to not pay attention other times :)

I wish I could get deals on milk. It never seems to go an sale here.

Just know it when I see it. This week they had can tomato sauce for .45 so bought 10 and weeks ago it was a box ww noodles for .33=bought 40!

CVS,
buying loss leaders at regular grocery,
I'll pay more for cereal ($2.50) if it comes with a free movie code but usually under $2.00,
pop $3.00/12 pack unless I get desperate for a "fix"

Bread $1
Toilet Paper $1
Toothpaste $.50
Deodorant $ .50
Cereal $1
Canned veggies $.25
Hamburger helper, box potatoes, stuffing, etc $.50
Dish soap $.69
Cake/ brownie mix $.75

Its really going to depend on where you live. Our area does NOT double coupons so I don't do as well as some people at stores with coupons.

My price for meat is always no more than 1.99/lb (when I buy from the stores). My parents will be getting us beef and pork every year for Christmas starting this year from a local farmer and paying to have it all processed!!! YIPPEE!

But...up until that we have a grocery store that rotates specials on a quarterly basis (of the meats I use anyway) so every 3 or 4 months I would stock up enough until the next sale.

93% ground beef, boneless skinless chicken breast, pork chops/pork roasts
different beef roasts etc. I wait until they are on sale and buy enough until the next sale.

Wow. Lots of you saying $1 per box of cereal. I figure $2 is good.

Tuna .49 per can (got 30 last time)
Chicken breasts, round steak, lean hamburger, roast $2/lb
Liquid dish soap .75
Dishwasher soap $1

Chocolate chips $1.85/bag
Dunkin Donuts coffee $5/bag (I've got some coupons that will take it down to
$4.50 right now, but I'd be stocking up at $5 with or without the coupons)
CFL lightbulbs .88/package

Butter $2/lb
Margarine .50/lb
Eggs .99 dozen
Mayo $2/jar
Paper towels .75/roll

I look for who has the best price for milk every week, but I don't ever "stock up."

Today I got Betty Crocker brownie mix for just the price of tax. I hauled home 20. But for me, hitting a jackpot like that is different than what I would routinely be looking for as a stock up price.
