My all time favorite was Tapestry by Carole King. I bought that album when I was in college, back in the early seventies. I still to this day think that is one great group of songs!!!
Thriller by Michael Jackson
Purple Rain by Prince
Come Live With Me by Ray Charles
Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder
Harvest for the World by the Isley Brothers
Open Our Eyes by Earth Wind and Fire
Soul Power by James Brown.
when I saw this post I immediately thought "Tapestry"
2nd fav is a little known album and group "It's A Beautiful Day." Nothing beats a little White Bird! Anyone familiar?

I still love that one too. I still have the album I bought when I was about 13 and I now have it on cd!
Not sure if that one's my all-time favorite, gotta think more on that. I'm enjoying reading other's responses and seeing the different decades the music represents.
Before These Crowded Streets- Dave Matthews Band This album is great just for the song, Pig, by itself. If you've never heard, it's very inspirational...at least, it is to me.
A senstimental favorite would be Aerosmith's Permanent Vacation because it was the first album I ever bought with my own money. I got $10 for my fifth grade graduation in 1988 and it was sepnt within an hour as I purchased the tape for $11...my mom helped out a bit with that extra dollar.
