What is wrong with me? Have I gone nuts??

Ok, I'm leaving for WDW in 10 days and I have just started reconsidering all my dining ressies.... We are at WDW from 11/27 - 12/4 (not on dining plan) but we have TIW discount. But, I'm thinking of ditching some of my ressie's.... We have a two year old and I think we have too many sit-down meals. Which one's would you ditch or keep?

11/27 - Artist Point - arrival day -- not going to a park. Maybe DTD
11/28 - Flying Fish - planning on walking from DHS
11/29 - Le Cellier - lunch -- DH b-day - Epcot all day
11/30 - No ressie's - MVMCP
12/1 - We have both Candlelight Processional Package reserved for both Biergarten and Garden Grill -- I need to cancel one very soon. Which one? At Epcot All Day -- leaning toward Garden Grill. DD 2 - loves characters.
12/2 - Hollywood and Vine - Character Breakfast
12/2 - Ohana Dinner -- Another fave for DH - but will be back in Jan and have ressie in Jan.
12/3 Tusker House Breakfast - One of our favorites
12/3 - Boma dinner -- thinking about canceling -- we love it but we will be back in a month and we have this ressie in Jan. I think I would like to eat dinner at Flame Tree at AK.

Priorities for this trip are Christmas decoration touring, unique Christmas events i.e. Candlelight Processional, MVMCP and park touring -- taking it easy with DD so that she isn't fried by day two.

I think Hollywood & Vine is the worst buffet I've had at WDW, so I would cancel that if I were you. I'd also go with what you said about saving Boma for January, especially since you'll have just been to Tusker House that morning.

While I can't comment on Boma, Flame Tree BBQ is a must for us. We walk down to the pavilion by the water and enjoy a nice leisurely lunch with a great view of EE!

I had a really awful dinner experience at Hollywood and Vine -- also my worst at WDW. I guess I was hoping breakfast might be better. Think we might just skip this one too... I think we are over-scheduled. Just not good with a two year old....

..but that being said, we also have a H/V ressie for Thanksgiving day, but that was to get us in front of the crowd. I was thinking about canceling, but DH informed me he wanted to see Agent OSO. ...um ok..

(to his defense our youngest is almost 6, but she's outgrowing this crowd... I guess not so much for DH )

Ok, now that is funny! I love that your DH wants to see Oso!! I do agree with getting in front of the crowd that day!!

I think you choices look fine.

Only one restaurant I would never eat at again its H&V, yet there are many who love it.

I also not crazy about Ohana's either. I think the service is terrible here plus I'm not a big meat eater.

Totally agree with this. We do way more sit-downs with the kids than when it's an all adult trip. They eat better food and get more fruits and vegetables this way too.

The only thing I'd change is to skip Boma since you are doing it on the next trip. We love Tusker House, so keep that one. Rainforest Cafe would be another possibility for that night.

I would skip Boma, not that I don't love it. It is so hard to get there and back.
You might not want to go through that on your last night! And you are going on your next trip anyway. We are going to Boma for our 1st dinner on Nov.30. We get in around 6pm and ressies are 8:40. Staying at POR so we might bite the bullet and take taxis.

On 12/1 i would definitely cancel Biergarten out of the two. I love Garden Grill and the food would be better for kids, along with the characters.
On 12/2 I would also get rid of Hollywood and Vine. I've heard it isn't anything special.
And on 12/3, I heard Boma is very very good, so I suppose as long as you're going to get to it eventually it's alright to cancel. And I mean, it'll probably be a little out of your way, especially on your last day. Might as well get a little extra park time.

I'd keep 'em and only cancel the one duplicate (I'd keep Garden Grill, btw - family style rather than buffet and characters, win-win).

We find that we appreciate sitdown meals even more when we're traveling with younger kids. Counter service is more of a hassle when you've got a toddler, and commando touring is impossible anyway. As the kids get older they're more concerned with having every possible minute of park time to run from ride to ride, but while they're little the restaurants are just as entertaining as the rides and sitdown meals make for a nice, climate controlled break from the hyper-stimulation of the parks.

I think we've pared down a bit -- which is good. We are going to ditch Biergarten and keep Garden Grill. I think we might get rid of Flying Fish and Boma. I'm on the fence about H&V breakfast. I agree the buffet is horrible but I've only eaten dinner there and I do think DD 2 would love meeting Oso, Manny and June and Leo.

And, hubby even mentioned getting rid of Le Cellier -- we also have this one for dinner next month and we have free dining then -- but counts as 2 TS next month so we might keep the lunch to see if we think it is worth 2 TS -- still can't decide, uggh. Maybe I should look at La Hacienda de San Angel instead....any thoughts?

Ohana might be on chopping block too -- who knows? I would just hate to cancel them all and then be kicking myself if I wanted to sit down to eat and couldn't get a ressie. Do you think it is bad to cancel 'day of' if we decide not to go? I do want someone to be able to get my ressie if we don't use it... I feel like it gives me good Disney karma.

I love Tusker House (plus it gets us into the park early that day) for breakfast so I can't get rid of that one...

Why does Disney planning make me crazy??? And, the more important question is why do I enjoy the craziness of the planning so much???
