What is with all the ads and announcements on right hand side of page

I don't mind the ads on the bottom of the page. That doesn't bother me. Or the banner ads. It is just the location that I don't care for.

I, also, notice you cannot go to the title of someone's thread and read the first line or so to get a clue what it's about without opening the thread.

That's weird. I was getting the preview window earlier (since the addition of the advertising column), but now I'm not.

I don't like that either.

Testing failed.

What bothers me more than the announcement/ad junk on the right side of the page is that it seems to have screwed everything else up in the process. The main pages don't even have the top banner with the DISboards logo and all of the links to watched threads and forums, it's just all blank. Aside from the no thread previews, I also don't like how the last post dates on the current threads say "August 13" instead of "Today". Also when I hit the back button to take me back to the main community section it doesn't automatically take me back down to where I last was, I have to manually scroll back down.

I'm seeing the preview windows after the page is fully loaded. But it's taking a ridiculous amount of time for CB (and other pages with the sidebar) to load.

Arrrrrrgh! First they squish the titles on the main page, then they cut off the navigation bar on the bottom of the page. Plus using the (only) navigation bar that's at the top of the page opens a full screen navigation box.

And now, when you hover over a thread title - there's no preview window as to the content of the thread.

I think this test isn't coming up with good results. My vote would be to discontinue the test.

I only posted this here because it won't post over on the Technical Support board. Things are going from bad to worse.

I think they're trying to find a work around the adblocker programs that several of us have had to download.

Just timed it - took 45 seconds for the main page to load and all the headers/bottom of page stuff to be there.

The dis is soooo slow for me tonight, it takes like 2 min to refresh a page

Some of my keys are glitchy too. When I use the brackets on my phone, I now get this.. ()

ETA- looks like that ones been fixed. I used to get two smiley faces instead of the brackets.
