What is wait time like for TSM at rope drop?

We will be at WDW Oct 20-27. We will be at HS on Friday morning 10/26. We have a FP for SDD so can not get one for TSM. We were thinking of trying to do TSM at rope drop. Is it still a long wait since SDD opened or is the wait time less? I didn't know if more people go to SDD now or still a ton of people to TSM.

Curious as well. We will be there the week before. Same scenerio. FP for SDD. Hoping to do AS2 and TSM at RD.

Last week DH and I did SDD first at RD, we were first in line (at 6:47am). Then we went over to TSM, under the entrance to the ride at 7:03am, it was a walk-on. At 7:13 we went under the entrance for a second ride, standby said 10 minutes, but I doubt it was that long, as we got back in line a third time at 7:29am. That 3rd wait was about 15 minutes.

We were there on Monday in the late afternoon, the posted wait time for TSMM was 50 minutes but it only took 25. Then we headed to Alien Swirling Saucers, the posted wait time was 35 minutes and it took 35 minutes (we won't wait for that one again). We had a FP for SDD which was great.

We were there on the 20th. We got there at 7 for EMH and had a FP for TSMM at 8:20. After doing SDD and AS2, we walked onto TSMM at about 8:10. Then rode again with our FP. We wouldn't have even needed our FP! So I'd say the line is less than 10 minutes for at least the first two hours, as everyone is going to SDD.

I’ll be RD on October 27 and RP begins at 9, which may make a difference because it’s a later RP. That day, I have a TSM FP at 9:05, so I’ll try for SDD and Aliens and anything over that with a short wait will be a bonus. I do have a SDD FP on October 29th at 1:20 but may come back that night just before closing to get in line for it to get a chance to ride it at night. Does anyone know what kind of wait time there should be if you get in line 1 minute from closing?

We like to hit TSM about an hour before closing time. You should be able to ride at least 4 times before it closes. Just keep in mind that the posted wait is intentionally exaggerated to discourage late riders.

Just a few weeks ago, we found a posted wait of 90 minutes at about 8 pm. It was obvious that hardly anyone was around and the actual wait was only 3 minutes.
