I think everyone should start using a disclaimer of some point

If it's going to save you from many (undeserved) points, I say use it!!!! I wish I would've used it from the get-go! Would've saved my siggie photos and PM from being confiscated. Live and learn.

Well, telling me that I "brought this on" myself implies that I'm incompetent in some way. THAT is a major personal attack, if I've ever seen one and It's MY duty to report you. I hope you're happy now!!!

Don't count on it. I got a warning once for telling someone in jest that they should murder someone. I even added the disclaimer that said I was only joking and I, in no way, actually supported the concept of murder.

My warning said something to the effect that even with the disclaimer, my post was inappropriate for the Dis, as it is a "family friendly board".

OMG -- I TOTALLY remember that post b/c I thought it was funny that you felt that you had to add that disclaimer! I thought "who would even think darlak was serious?!?!"!!!! I cannot believe that it got you into trouble!!!! Oh, darlak ... I feel for you. I used an old slang term in a post that was deemed "not family friendly" and received points ... yet just other day I saw a v. similar slang term in someone's post and thought "wonder if that scored them any points". I'm going to guess not as my post was removed but the other one was not. Now, I'm not the type to go around tattling on ... uh, I mean reporting people ... so I just kept my mouth shut on it. But, I just thought it was v. unfair!!!!!

It's a famous line from "Different Strokes", an '80s sitcom. The line became part of the slang and was a catchphrase of the era, and was uttered, seemingly at least once every episode, by Gary Coleman's sassy kid character to his brother 'Willis'.

"What choo talkin' about, Willis?"

About the three child-actor leads...
Gary Coleman has been arrested, lost all his money and is now undergoing a divorce, Dana Plato was also arrested, served time and died a few years back (I thnk by suicide). Todd Bridges (who played the famous 'Willis') has also been arrested and served time for drug-related offenses.

I have never reported anyone. If I can't handle what is said to me then I just move on. I must admit that I have been tempted to report one of the MANY inappropriate posts by the person who reported me, but I like to think I'm a bigger person than that. My intense dislike for what this poster did is almost overshadowed by how sorry I feel for them.

I know ... I have never reported anyone either and if I don't like what someone says, I let it go. Life's too short to act like a kindergartner. It's enough that I'm surrounded by them every day ... I don't need to start acting like one! And, I know what you're saying about being the bigger person and feeling sorry for the tattler. That's how I feel, too.
