Is anyone else tired of the whole iced coffee craze? Everywhere I turn there is another advertisement for iced coffee this or iced coffee that - I'm tired of it! Especially for breakfast! Who drinks iced coffee for breakfast? That's un-American! ;) :drinking1

Do you eat iced eggs for breakfast? No! It's absurd!

So who's with me? Hot coffee drinkers of the world unite! We must stop this uprising of cold coffee before it destroys the very foundation of our great nation!

I said the same thing for a long time, but I do like it all sugared up with vanilla or caramel. Then it's not so much like coffee - more like coffee-flavored. I really like the frozen stuff. And heaven on earth is the Dairy Queen Mocha Lattes....but that involves ice cream, so whole 'nother ballgame there!

In the morning, however, I will only have my nice hot steamy friend-in-a-mug.

I'm about to go make myself a nice hot steaming pot of coffee... then put some ice in it. Sorry, in this summer heat, I want my coffee icy cold and sweet.

I've been drinking iced coffee for about 10 years now.... way before it became the "in thing." I was introduced to it by my favorite local coffee shop at the time (which has since gone out of business since Starbucks opened a shop two doors down :sad2: ).

However, I *hate* sweetened iced coffee. And I hate when they just pour hot coffee over ice because then it's just a melty, watery mess.

I like it unsweetened with just a bit of half/half. :thumbsup2

No to iced coffee. I don't like my coffee cold. I love any kind of hot coffee drink though.

I only drink coffee when I'm cold and tired at the same time. Icing it defeats the first purpose, so no, I don't touch the stuff.

When I want a cold pick-me-up, I much prefer the taste of Diet Coke.

I don't discriminate when it comes to coffee. I drink hot coffee with breakfast during the week and iced coffee with breakfast on the weekends. ;) I'm very picky about my iced coffee though. It has to have extra sugar in it or it tastes way too bitter for me.

Iced coffee is hardly an "in thing" in New England. It's been a drink staple for certainly as long as I can remember. I've been drinking it myself for about 20yrs now.

People drink iced tea - why not iced coffee?

Personally, I like it hot first thing in the morning and iced later on, but it is super hot out, and sweat drips down your back and brow as soon as you are up and moving, why not down a cold jolt of caffine instead of hot?
We'll only see the iced coffee commercials for about another month or so, and then it will get cooler as we drift into fall and iced coffee will fade in the background again until next spring.

Well I have to ask how anyone can drink hot coffee when it's 100 degrees outside? :confused3 I only recently started drinking coffee (last year--I'm 31) thanks the Starbuck's Frappuccinos. Now I make my own at home.

Me too. Except I drink it for breakfast most days. Sometimes i make my "chocolate vanilla caramel creamer and splenda" at night and stick it in the fridge til morning. It is probably my favorite thing!

What's wrong with iced (or even simply cold) coffee? Who wants a hot drink during the summer?

I think I'd die if I didn't have my morning iced coffee. :sad2: It's also good any time of day!

I also starting drinking iced coffee before the big craze. My addiction began in 1993 when I had my first job at a local coffeehouse. :coffee:

I maybe weird but has anyone tried the Mocha BK Joe from Burger King? OMG, I love those:love: .Thats the only thing besides the Frozen coke that I get from BK.I really like them alot though.

Me too!!!!!!!!!!!! But I gave them up for the "no frivilous spending" thread on the BB. I used to get one every morning on my way to work.

I haven't had one from McD's in a while. The one time I did have one from there it tasted like cold coffee. BK's is not like that at all.

I agree. I think my first introduction to ice coffee was in the 1970's sometime. Not a trend or "in thing" if its been over 30 years.

I'm totally addicted to iced coffee in the summer, have one every single afternoon. But, my first cup of coffee each day must be a hot, steaming cup of "Joe" for me - no lattes or frappuccinos, etc. in the morning. DH thinks I'm nuts. (I've also been drinking it for 20 years.)
