Hi,

This photo was taken at Disneyland, Anaheim.

What is this device? I have never seen anything like it. :confused3

Anyone else ever seen one?

Regards,
Alan

It's one heck of an ECV. It looks like it'll go over most terrain but I bet it wouldn't fit on a Disney bus.

It looks dangerous for others to me.

Regards,
Alan

I like the canopy with the fringe on it! :teeth:

The whole thing looks like an SUV version, or Humner version of an ECV - and I hope she didn't snag her yellow covering in the rear tire right after the photo was taken...

I would hate to get run over by it, :moped:
One nite when I was off my ECV I was hit and had my foot run over by a Disney owned 4 wheeled ECV, It ruined my evening, Along with the 3 other people she ran over.. :dance3:

Yeah, it looks custom to me! Too large to be standard. Gotta love her style though!!

I showed that to our scooter salesman and he said that that was new Hummer ECV. With sales of the Hummer flatening they needed to deversify. :cool1: :rotfl2: :rotfl: The yellow color gave it away.

I found a website for Palmer Industries which makes a similar item. The wheels in the photo above are obviously custom. The Independence, shown, has a capacity of 550 pounds and costs $4,300 plus batteries and shipping.

Yep that's the scooter. If you look on that website under "Electrical Products" for the "Foursome" you can see that it's the front part of the Foursome. It also looks just like the version under the "Accessories" tab.

The lady pictured above does appear that she would have some problems walking and probably would not be able to use a standard scooter due to her size. So like most of us she gets by the best way she can.

It's the Surrey With the Fringe On Top! :rotfl:

It's even got the yellow wheels. :lmao:

Wow. 13 mph and a two seater.

Oh yes, now I remember, I had looked at those but you know they are not an "approved" device, though the site said it can qualify for insurance as I recall the rep told my wife it's not FDA approved but some insurance plans will pay the tab.

I'm a bit surprised that very few see a safety issue?

All the best,
Alan

Uh oh... Um, I er, ah, like, heard it's not allowed in Texas (everybody think now we're safe from speed-demon Deb? :teeth: )

I understand the need for it but MAN, is it bright and colorful. At least you wont lose it and at least, not many will be tempted to steal it. It reminds me of the Surrye with the Fringe on top song from Oklahoma.

I'm checking it out again. The last time as my wife reminded was a couple years ago.

If they are approved I may look into one.....and a paint job.

My little Revo only goes 4.5 MPH and Haley wants to go faster! She trots along side my scooter, But she can really run up to 35 MPH :moped:
:lmao:

Just to follow up.

I spoke to the folks at Palmer today and was told that the trike in question is not an FDA approved device but it's road worthy. :confused3

When I asked about insurance paying, as kind of stated on their web site, I was told "possibly" ?

I was also told that with a mobility problem that it should be accepted as a wheelchair, although it misses the common wheelchair definition in many ways.

I was hot for one but too many issues.

Regards,
Alan
