What is this and how do I keep it from killing my plants?

I was looking at some of our bushes again last night, and noticed that on two of them, there are these little tiny (about the size of a head of a pin) white raised spots in places on the leaves, almost looking like seed pods or something.

I think this is what killed our last bush that was next to our garage, but just in the beginning stages.

What is it, and what do we use to get it to go away?

Rajah.....if these white little specks are on the underside of the leaves, they are probably aphids. They can be sprayed with a commercial preparation a couple of times a week. Just don't tarry....they do kill quickly.

I was going to say the same thing as gina2000. They have affected several of my plants here also.

Dittos, aphids.
I'm spraying the roses like crazy to keep them in control. So far the roses are the only ones that have them. Spectricide is working best for me.
