We are arriving 12/22 afternoon for our 12/24 cruise. We don't want to travel on 12/23 due to crowds. Plus, our free flights through worldperks only gives us 41 minutes between flights in Memphis. Possible delays in Philadelphia make me nervous.

What is there to do on 12/23 besides swim in the pool? Any ideas are welcome. We are thinking of KSC if it is not too far a drive.

The drive to Kennedy Space center is about 50 minutes. I would not recommending going if you can not get there by 2:30 in the afternoon. Should you get there by 2:30 you would have time to do everything just ensure you do the bus tour first.

If you're considering driving out to the coast, you might as well just stay out there until the cruise. The Space Center is just across the harbor from the port. If you arrive on the afternoon of the 22nd, I'd suggest booking a room in the space coast area. The Radisson in Port Canaveral has a free shuttle to the port terminal, and many rental car companies have offices nearby. Most allow one-way rentals from MCO without a drop-off charge.

Check out Dave's site for more info on lodging (link) and car rentals (link).

not much except watch the planes.

I would go up I-Drive and go to the Mercado or do Ripley's or eat at some of the wonderful restaurants.

There are tons of web sites devoted to I-Drive. (International Drive in Orlando). Its about a 15 minute drive.

I would not stay at MCO Hyatt if you want to get out. Truly - the only thing to do is watch the planes.

Go to the coast, stay at an ocean front hotel on CocoaBeach and head up to the space center on the 23rd. It is an easy drive from the airport to the coast, even at night.

Check out www.dcltribute.com for hotels. It is a real treat to stay on the ocean and lots cheaper than the Hyatt. warning - the Radisson is not near the ocean, meaning not walking distance. There is a lot to do in Cocoa beach.
