My DW and I are thinking of going to Vero this summer and was wandering what you enjoy doing there. We have never been. When we go to HHI we like to ride bikes, play golf, shop the outlets, take part in several resort activities, etc. We are not big beach people in general. We usually go to the beach once or twice the entire week at HH. So not sure if Vero would suit our interests and was wanting to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I went with my 12 year old twins this summer and we had a great time. We hardly went to the beach. They have different activities around the pool. We played tennis, shuffleboard, played lots of mini golf. We drove around the area. There are some different museums I would like to check out next time. Lots of different places to eat. Vero Beach is also an artist town so there are lots of small shops to visit. We also went to a couple of minor league baseball games. They are fun even if you aren't a real big fan. We talked to some of the players. They all look so young! One was from our town so we talked to him. The people in the stands are very friendly.

To sum it up, I think you would have a good time and find lots to keep you busy!

I sent my niece and her DH to VB this past April. They enjoyed the relaxation but commented on the fact that there weren't many activities that interested them outside of the resort. I am not a beach person and I like to be busy during vacation. I loved HHI because there are lots of options on the island as well as places like Beaufort and Savannah nearby. We drove to VB from WDW once to check it out but I have hesitated to stay at VB.

I love the quiet of Vero Beach. If you are looking for activities like WDW forget it. There is a beach and pool and the resort has activities. I go to relax. I like the idea of the no rush just staring at the ocean feel. The Space Center is about an hr away if you would like to visit there for the day. Otherwise enjoy the beauty and relaxation of this wonderfule resort.

There are a few nature stops to make: Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge is one that comes to mind. If you are interested, members of my family did a night walk and watched a turtle laying eggs, that's through the Caribbean Conservation League, but there was van from the VB resort.

There's a state treasure museum...I forget the name, just about 4 miles away, but you are Florida's treasure coast and there's a fair amount of information here:

About 4/5 years ago, we visited Harborbranch Oceanographic Institute in Ft. Pierce, and took a lovely boat trip on the St. Johns River.

We like the area and the resort very much.

Go into the town of Vero Beach (about 20 min away). There is an outlet there, plus a beach and really neat shops and restaraunts.

We enjoyed exploring Sebastian Inlet State Park ... especially by kayak.
