What is the Tag Fairy?

What is the Tag Fairy and what does he/she/it do? I certainly hope it's a good thing....

The tag fairy is a fairy that gives tags. LOL
Tag being colorful comments/etc. under the person's username. I think most (if not all?) think it's a good thing....

I was finally bestowed some tags recently- but they aren't there now.

The TF usually get your tag from something you put in a post. Be very careful what you type - it can be a tag. Just look at mine.

I don't know what happened. I somehow got logged out (which never happens) and had to ask for password because I forgot it- not sure if that has something to do with it. OR I might have messed it up myself- changing sig line or something. I noticed last night there is a box there to check to set it to default- I probably accidentally checked that thinking it would change my sig line or something. Knowing my luck- I probably messed it up my own darn self.

The colored tags can only be given by tag faries and cannot be changed by us mere mortals. If you try to change it in any way you'll end up deleting it. If you hit default that most likely cancelled it out too.

Welcomed Guest is the generic tag for new visitors (up to a certain time and post count).

Dis Veteran is the generic tag after that.

Be patient you never know when a tag will appear.

Zalansky, I believe it's 75 posts to be a veteran. I too was recently blessed by the Tag Fairy (I believe, I believe!!) after trying to bribe he/she with chocolate. Hence the tag!

You can put whatever you want in your tag. You can be a DIS Veteran now just by typing it in (if you wanna cheat ) - or you can put your own personal message there. Have fun with that space and stick around - the TF's will find you eventually and hopefully add some color.

I hear ya.
I could make my own tag- but I have no imagination- what tag would I give myself?
and besides- I really like color. Color tags are best IMHO. Black tags are blah. I refuse to give myself an unimaginative blah tag so I remain tagless until tag fairy deems me worthy of giving me a tag again.... till then, I consider myself not worthy. I'm not worthy... but I believe in the tag fairy.
