What is the strangest thing you have seen in someone else's bedroom?

An unlocked gun safe and several rifles and shotguns lying all over the place.

I may have done my block about it.

The previously mentioned ex-GF used to keep a loaded handgun on her nightstand. And it seemed like it was a different gun every time I came to visit.

I haven't been in other people's bedrooms other than DS's and DD's and they don't really have anything strange.
I wonder what people would think is strange in mine. Just lots of Disney stuff.....and books

When we were looking for houses, we were clicking through photos online on the realtors site. The master bedroom had a beautiful huge bed and a rope attached to the ceiling hanging down to the bed.

You know the rope could have been for a person with limited mobility to lift up to a sitting position. It also could have been part of a more sophisticated lift system for a handicapped person that they removed for the photos. A friend's DD uses a lift to get out of bed due to severe CP.

sure it could have. Not saying it was for anything sinister. Just saying it was strange, not something you see every day, as was the question of the thread.

I'm actually in other people's homes very frequently for work, including their bedrooms and bathrooms. Honestly - I've rarely ever seen anything that raised my eyebrows. Some are definitely messier than other though. I don't consider myself a great housekeeper by any stretch; particularly the bedrooms where a lot of junk gets shoved out of the way. If I see one that's worse than mine - it's probably bad by anybody's standards.
We also go into many homes. Unlike you, we've seen some interesting & upsetting stuff.

- One home had a room so full that there was only a couple feet, between the massive pile & the ceiling. You couldn't even see the floor.
- A serious wad of cash left on the dresser. I'm talking a huge wad of $20s & $100s that probably weren't earned working a normal job.
- One older guy was in his room cleaning his assault rifles with about a dozen displayed on his bed. :scared: It seemed like an odd time to clean your guns.
- The most shocking was a montage of pictures of a man that was rock hard & more than blessed in his nether regions. Thankfully, it wasn't either of the clients or I wouldn't have been able to look them in the face.
- On a similar note, one client had her walls full of pictures of women having sex.
- The most disgusting was a man that had a picture of a baby with it's legs spread open in a suggestive pose. I was totally skeeved out & wanted to call the cops. If I thought calling themwould have gotten the pervert locked up, I would have. I couldn't get away from that creep fast enough.

That's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure there's more.

So a survey was done recently by a travel site about the strangest things found in bedroom so thought I would start it here , what are the strangest things you have seen in peoples bedrooms?

Well, actually have not been in too many people's bedrooms - except relatives. To me that's a personal 'hands off' space that I respect, so wouldn't know what's there!

What good would it have done? Do you think they're going to arrest anyone based on me reporting I saw a picture?

Every time I have read about a local person being arrested for child porn, the investigation started because someone called the cops on them.

I'm not saying it would have happened in your case, but who knows.

Sounds like you get around

Many years ago while in college, I used to do high value home appraisals part time for a company contracted by insurance companies and part of the job required I would have to look at all the rooms in the house. You would think with the homeowner knowing I was coming over they would put the toys and items away and make sure their wives/girlfriends umm, ahhh, ohh wait I said this is a family friendly site. LOL

I'm guessing they had more evidence than I did, which was only a picture I saw. That's a he said/she said case at the most. It's not even enough to get them in the door, unless he let them in. He could have destroyed the picture, before agreeing to let them in his home.

A mini fridge stocked with bottles of expensive champagne. DH and I saw this while we were house hunting, and I of course had to look into the fridge.

You opened up someone's personal closed space in a bedroom while house hunting? Totally not good! That was obviously 'not' part of the house that was for sale?

When our homes have been for sale, that's one thing I stress with realtors when handing over our keys - they 'must' be with potential lookers/homeowners at 'all' times! Have nothing to hide, but wanted to prevent what you just admitted to doing - snooping! Not cool!!

I've always looked in the closets, cupboards, drawers, medicine cabinets, etc. when house hunting to see how much space there is. If the appliances are included in the sale I've also looked in those too see how much space and whether they're in need of repair. When our house was for sale I assumed everyone was going to look in those spaces too. We had removed all valuables and medications from the house before placing it on the market.
