My current name was not my original name here at the DIS. As you can see, I've been around along while, although I post rarely compared to other old timers.
For example, Dan Murphy was here only two months before me. I have nearly 500 posts. He has 36,000!!!
In the first half of 2000 I remember people posting things like "Do you think we can make it to 10,000 registered members?"
My first name was WDWNovice, way back when I was one, trying to figure out how to plan our first trip. When I did all the researc and reading for the trip and came back, I still wanted to hang around the DIS, but the name didn't quite work. Then I had the awful idea to stay close to the same name (so people could recognize me) and became WDWNovice -- Novice No More which made even less sense and was waayyy to long.
The tech guys emailed me and asked if I could change my name to shorten the length.
Our family adores _The Emporer's New Groove_ so I picked something memorable from that. I thought about No Touchee! but I was pretty sure that could be taken a few too many ways and even fewer people would get it.

Now when people refer to a post by me it gets shorted to DL (like DisneyLand) or just Llama, which always kicks off the movie's song "Walk the Llama Llama" in my head, and that makes me smile.
Interestingly, no one ever shortens it to just Demon. We are a pixie-dust-bunch around here!
