I have never known the standard protocal for spa services. Basically, what is the standard rate when tipping for spa services? Is it 15%-20% of the service?
Do you tip the spa staff at the end of each treatment in cash, or at the end of the cruise, or what? Thanks!
i'm not looking to start a debate here but would really like to know what people are tipping at the spa. i want to try something and am not sure what to tip or even how to tip.
do you tip per service, is it the same person who does everything for you, say massage and facial? what if you get a special where the second treatment is free or discounted? should you tip based on regular pricing? do you give cash at time of service or do you add it on to your room charges? what percentage do you leave or do you just pass over a ten or twenty?? at home i do a percent but its not clear to me if you do the same.
sorry for all the questions but as i said earlier, i'm cruising soon and have never used the spa. i want to this time and don't want to stiff the server. tia

If the service is discounted, do you usually tip a percentage based on the non-discounted price for that service? I took advantage of an embarkation day special and tipped based on the full price, since I seem to recall that is the proper etiquette when using a restaurant coupon. Not sure if that applies to spa as well.
