What is the SMELL when you enter the WL?

Is it from the fireplace or what? Does the Smoke house cause the rooms to smell?

The first thing I smell when I walk in the lobby is Whispering Canyon Cafe!!!

Idk about that, but we took the food tour and they did take us out to a smoke house. What a cool tour!

It is a greta smell isn't it- BUT you'll be happy. or sad, depending on yuor opinion. yo know that the rooms DO NOT smell like that. Well, at least mine didn't!

The reason for the question is that the doctor has told me to keep my baby away from campfires and etc...She is not suppose to breath any smoke and I want to make sure it is OK for us to stay there.

There is a fireplace in the lobby. There was a similar (more like incense) at AKL. They also had a firepalce. Perhaps you would reconsider and stay at a moderate (with ourside corridors) or at a deluxe that won't have a fire going. I would put her health before all, just in case. You never know...

I've never been there, but as a vegetarian, I'd be miserable if I had to smell barbeque all night long and every time I came back to my resort. Gross!

I don't think it is a BBQ smell, its a fireplace, campfire smell, and pine.
And the rooms do not smell like this.

A few years ago they burned wood in the fireplace in the lobby. It is now a gas fireplace.

I was disappointed to find out it was gas burning fireplace. We were there in January during Florida's cold snap, and I think everyone there could have benefited from the heat of a wood burning fireplace!

What you smell when you enter the WL is food cooking from Whispering Canyon Cafe (open restaurant that overlooks the lobby) and Artist's Point restaurant.

The scent carries into the hallways, but for some reason, you can't smell it in the rooms!

Joyjoy, it doesn't smell like grilled animal flesh, if that's what you mean!

I better book another trip fast! We went in February, and I never noticed any smell...just the music, which is great!

Hehehe. When my friend Kirsten and I stayed at WL in 1994 we cancelled our Hoop-de-Doo reservations because we wanted NO BBQ after smelling it all week
