What is the smallest rental car I could get by with??

We will be 2 adults, 2 children. We are going for 10 days, so are looking at bringing 4 large suitcases and 4 carryons.

The problem is going to be with the trunk space. I wouldn't go any smaller than an intermediate, and then plan on moving stuff around in the trunk. I loved the old intermediates that were Dodge Intrepids--those trunks were huge! I have trouble fitting our luggage in a Malibu.
