What is the renovated pool at OKW like?

How is the slide? We'll be there in July and looking forward to it!

We just got back and DS loved it. I didn't spend too much time there and when we did go the pool was closed for about 1/2 hour because some inconsiderate person didn't put swimmies on their child and they pooped in the pool.

However, when it reopened DS was on the slide constantly.

We were at OKW last month when everyone (well, it seemed like everyone from NY & MA!) was on spring break. We used the main pool every day. My group gave the slide a big thumbs up! I noticed the life guards were paying very close attention & as a member I appreciate that a lot.

I stopped in briefly at OKW during our last vacation. The slide looks like it will be a lot of fun. However, I thought it looked a little more blob-like than castle-like. There were three lifeguards, two for the slide side and one now monitoring the shallow end. That is probably one too many, IMO.

I have always enjoyed the OKW pool for it's size. I'm happy they added a slide, but I hope there will still be time to swim there when the waters are quiet and unpatroled. Are there slide hours? I did not notice.

We were at OKW a couple of weeks ago. I have two DS 6 and 3. My two boys loved the slide, but my youngest had two trips that the slide flipped him over on the last turn and he ended up with a nasty bump on his head. He is a good swimmer and tall (40 inches) for his age but the lifeguard said the smaller/lighter kids were having trouble staying sitting down and he was not the first to be flipped.

The one thing I really liked about the slide was that I could see where the kids went into the stairwell. This design was nice as I could be sure they did not walk off. I mentioned in another thread that the design of the slide at SRS allows the kids to walk to the spa or Artist Palette as you can not see them if you are waiting at the bottom.
