What is the QUIETEST DVC resort?

We think OKW is one of the quietest resort we have stayed at in a long time. We request in the bldg 52-56 areas which is one of the most distant from the hospitality house area.

Same here. Every time we have stayed at OKW it has been quiet...EXCEPT for one. However, terrible neighbors could show up at ANY of the DVC resorts. During that one stay we had to call the front desk, but we haven't had any trouble since that one time in 2007.

BLT was quiet except for the light parade going by at 10pm. We didn't have any doors open on our LV room and the music was loud.

...I haven't stayed in OKW for a while. Can't remember the toilet flushing situation there so that leads me to believe that they may not have them.

Turbo's. I was sick one day at OKW with a 24 hour bug, so I was headed to the bathroom multiple times during the day and night. I kept worrying about waking up the guests next to us with all the turbo noise.

Another vote for SSR or AKV - AKV always feels really quiet because they have to keep noise down for animals (hence, no fireworks at AK). Also, they don't play that Disney-mix of loud pop music at the pools - it's a very quiet/soothing African background.

Avoid BWV at all costs!!!! :-)

From our experience, any resort can be the quietest or the loudest, depending on where you are and who your neighbors are. Once at BCV, we stayed in the "jog" to the right about 1/2 way down the hall. Even DH, who's a remarkably light sleeper, said how quiet it was. The next stay, in a different room, even I (who usually sleeps like a rock) kept being awakened by noise. Likewise, OKW and HHI have been both extremely quiet and very noisy on different stays.

:rotfl: Geezer is a funny word...ok, seriously VWL was pretty quiet.

Hey, I resemble that remark!;) SSR and AKV/Kidani are pretty quiet, and OKW is as well if you don't count the blasts that can be heard from illiminations sometimes.

Our recommendations would be:
1. Kidani
2. SSR
3. VWL
4. OKW

We've stayed at all of them and actually they're all pretty quiet.

We enjoy the peace and quiet of SSR, THV and AKV Kidani. After all the stimulation at the parks it's nice to come home to some place quiet.

We have never heard a peep from anywhere or any of our neighbors at SSR....EVER! It's very quiet and one of the reasons we love it!

I would avoid getting only one side of a lockoff at OKW---I thought the sound insulation between the studio and 1BR halves was quite poor.

I'm with you on that one. Our first experience with DVC, an OKW studio: Our lock-off neighbors had chosen to put their little one's crib right up against the connecting door and seemed to believe that a baby needs to cry his or herself to sleep even if it takes an hour or more.

I think all connecting units are open to this issue.

Thankfully we only stayed 3 nights and transferred - BWV was so much quieter. :goodvibes

And one early evening we could hear the people above us. I couldn't figure out what they were doing but it sounded like the kids were jumping from the bed to floor to couch over and over and then it suddenly stopped (only lasted 5 minutes).

This was most likely while a parent was in the shower:rotfl2:

We had a very quiet stay at OKW this past March with the exception of the toddler next door who was obviously place in the living room away from it's parents. The child screamed for it's Mother for about 1 hr every night at about 1 am. You could hear Dad tell the child to go to sleep...to bad we had to listen to them weening their child from the "Mommy comes when I call" routine.
