The food is a step up from counter service restaurants (the fries are great!) but it is a terrible use of a dining plan credit, IMO. The entrees are really inexpensive, like around $15. Better to pay OOP and bank the credit for a signature restaurant.

I totally agree with the quoted answer to your question. When we were on the dining plan we paid OOP at the Plaza and used the saved dining credit for one of our Signature restaurants. The Plaza is a a good spot for an early dinner ADR allowing you to be in a great spot to secure a parade and fireworks viewing location for the evening after finishing your meal.
I agree with the others...it's a poor use of a TS, but it's one of my favorite places to eat in The World....it just kinda screams traditional disney to me. the food is simple - sandwiches, burgers, excellent desserts....but the location and atmosphere is wonderful. If you eat lunch there, the Mayor of Main Street sometimes comes in and strolls thru the restaurant chatting with patrons and singing happy birthday...it's pretty great.
One of my favorite "getaways" at Magic Kingdom - get away from the noise, get away from the heat, get away from the crowds.
I agree with the PPs about the TS credit, unless you are on the Deluxe plan and then you will probably have plenty of credits to use.
We are big fans as well. This would be a good OOP restaurant and with the TIW card it is probably very comparable to the prices at the CS/QS in MK...but with better food. And LOVE their sundaes.
A hidden gem in the MK! MK is definitely lacking when it comes to good restaurants... The Plaza is wonderful! It may not be fancy, but it does the job! The food was so good and the fries were the best I've ever had in my life! If on the DDP, I would not use a credit but I'd pay OOP instead. The prices are fairly lower than most restaurants in WDW.
I'm hijacking, how long does a meal generally take here? If I wanted to secure a spot for the electric parade at 8, would a 7pm ADR work? Or should it be earlier?
