What is the one thing you would change about DVC? JUST ONE.

For me, I dont want anything shiny or fancy. If I could change one thing it would be that banking/borrowing was not a final transaction.

I have been feeling this way for awhile but today it's really apparent for me. I need to make a reservation that requires borrowing 254 points. I am so nervous. What if I need to cancel for some reason. That is a lot of points to borrow and commit to using before 01/31/26.

Decrease in cancellation penalty with holding points. I would like it to mirror WDW cash rooms where you have 8+ days rather than 30+ days. I know that could create inventory issues, but I would like less restrictions.

What you said and get rid of those transfer rules and show transferred points on the dashboard to make it easier for us multiple membershippers. Find a different way to get rid of commercial renters

Hey now, I said one. But I do agree with all these changes.

They both fell within transferring so I counted them as one 🤣🤣

But while we're on the subject 🤣🤣 may I just add please that whenever I ask for a room request can they please not tell me 50 times that it's not a guarantee. Like I get that maybe some people expect it but literally after every sentence it's a reminder that it's not a guarantee.

Like yes Mrs *** that's a very specific request but it's not a guarantee. OK I went ahead and notated that for you but I just want to remind you it's not a guarantee. Oh you want to put another room request for a seperate reservation ok sure but it's not a guarantee... you need it continued with a seperate reservation? sure ill put that down but just remember its not a guarantee just a request mmm k. Omg unless you think i have amnesia i get it, I wanted to scream lolll

I think the sudden Opening of all kinds of different DVC lounges is aggressive and confusing with different policies … I just felt not welcome home with most times I have entered since the Disney Springs opened and MK and Canada …
Of course, I am still bitter about Top of the World at BLT ! Haha
I have to act like it isn’t even there when I stay at my home resort…

This - I don't mind folks renting their points when they have extra or can't go in a given year and would otherwise lose the points, (I've been in this situation once and was able to not lose points by renting) but I too wish they could figure out a way to prevent folks from just buying points, snagging the best rooms and just renting them out to make money.

I sold my two bigger contracts. I’m in the process of divesting myself from DVC, so I couldn’t care less. I hope the product eventually becomes unusable for everyone due to walking, to be completely honest.
Kudos to you for putting your money where your mouth is. I hate walking as much as you do. I’ve chalked it up to an inevitable consequence of a flexible system combined with human nature to look out for number one.

My wish (along with the excellent one to make borrowing reversible), would be to allow one transfer in and one transfer out per UY, instead of either or.

I would force them to enforce the rules we already have. Various places where they are a little lax and start to go off the path slightly.

Example the point chart balance where they have went long periods without adjusting. Another example would be contracts repetitively rented as prebooked nights. These are things that could be fixed but they do not care.

If you said it was a new rule I cant think of one. Possibly new features like I would like other members to be able to post points on an exchange so you could buy their points (limit to the 1 time transfer per year though I think I would stick with maybe expand to 2 or 3).

What are you doing with all the additional points hitting the people's accounts going for room reservations? What are you doing with all the rooms sitting empty 8 days out?

Hotels absorb the lost revenue as its part of a marketing strategy to allow flexibility to get people to book early and often. With DVC the people who absorb the loss (through lower future capacity) are other fellow members.

@lowlight and @xdan0920 will likely stop by here and say eliminate walking.

Just a crazy guess.

Could be eliminated and should be eliminated. Every action you do in the system is tracked so if someone has a pattern of walking each year a number of days it could easily be caught, member could be notified, and they could lose their ability to modify online with the member unable to modify but instead needing to cancel and rebook after going through any waitlist.

Lots of these work arounds are not rocket science to catch they just simply do not care to catch them.

In theory this actually goes against the actual rules as rooms are supposed to be bookable at 11 months and they have added to allow up to 10 additional days. Thing is when you walk you really are booking at possibly 12 months instead of 11 because you walked a reservation for a month.

The reason you can’t see transfers is because those points are not owned by the membership.

They are on a temporary contract housed in your account,..so they can’t show them on the dashboard you are not an owner of that contract.

I would like an explanation on how they “honor” room request. Like, what is their hierarchy? When the reservation was made? When the room request was submitted? When someone checks in? A home resort owner vs someone who transferred into the resort at 7 months?
