What is the MVMCP?

Why is it necessary to purchase separate tickets to this? Is Mickey's Very Christmas Party not open to the public who enter Magic Kingdom? I was thinking that as long as you purchased tickets to get into Magic Kingdom, you would have automatic access to MVMCP. If not, how do they block access to those in MK that have not purchased separate tickets to MVMCP?

MVMCP is a seperate party after MK closes. It requires a seperate MVMCP ticket. I think MK closes at 6p on those nights. At that time the CM's usher the guest out of the park before the MVMCP party begins.

Ticket holders get wristbands on the night of the party. After the official start time anyone without a wristband that is still in the park will be asked to leave or escorted out.
It really is a fun time and (I think) worth the extra money. We're going again this year..we had such a good time last year!
