What is the most points you have used on one trip?

DW and I are planning multiple trips for 2011... We are kinda point poor so we are trying to make the most of what we have... We have our Dec 2010 trip points set up already... And we have 354 left to use by Dec 9th 2011...(that includes borrowing)...

As we are trying to get the most out of our AP's I started to wonder, what is the most some of the DISers have used for one trip?

What size room, how many nights, multiple rooms, etc...?

Remember...we only have 100 points.

When we first joined, we banked our 1st year, and used 200 points for a 2 bedroom, Boardwalk View during Spring Break for 5 days (S-Thu.). We also had 70 points transferred in for an additional studio.

We took both of my sisters and their families. One sister saw the $840 room rate per night on the back of the door, and wanted to have me committed. By the end of the week, I agreed with her, and wanted committed.

DH and I are using 254 this Oct for 10 days/9 nights in a 1BR for the two of us. Our last trip broke us 315 points for 8 days/7 nights in a 2BR because we invited our friends for that trip.

We only have 100 points at WDW. Drumroll, please!!! And we are spending 264 at AKV this fall. It's our first time staying at our home resort, so we wanted to splurge! We are staying for 1 night in a concierge studio so we can do the sunrise safari (24 points). Then we are moving into a dedicated 2 BR savanna view for the next 6 nights (240 points). We are using 96 points left over from 2009, 100 points from 2010, and 68 borrowed points from 2011. We only go once every other year to WDW, so we figured we would splurge this year, then we would conserve some on our 2012 trip.

This summer is our craziest We are using 1073 pts for 25 nights in 4 different places mostly in 2brs. It could go up a hundred or so if our waitlist comes in for BLT We bought 400 pts in Dec. and had to bank them so we had a bunch to use up. Most summers from now on will be about 2 weeks.

14 nights at OKW this May/June = all of our 400 points...........anyone have any to rent out for Sept.

We will be using 512 this Christmas:
330 for 3 nights at a GV Kidani
182 for 3 nights at SSR. We have a Treehouse for 2 nights and waitlisted for the other. We are spending this time with another family (good friends from the DIS). We just hope the other DH will get time off (he cant request until Sept or Oct), if he cant I will be the only male with 7 females ranging in age from 11 to 50ish with 2 teens and 2 pre-teens.

Can't remember exactly... Somewhere around 1000.
Last October we did 4 nights in a VB cottage followed by 10 nights in a Kidani GV.

Our Christmas trip last year. 12 nights in a THV over The holidays. We averaged around 50 points per night that stay.

Our family reunion in 2007 was a close second. 3 nights in a GV @ SSR and 9 studios.

Probably not the most points I spent on a trip but most points per night was when we stayed a GV on a Saturday and Sunday. Don’t want to think about how much we used so I am not going to look up how many we spent. It was worth it though.

Christmas week at SSR in 2008. I'll never forget that we spent 95 points on one of those nights (2 bedroom). It was almost all of the incentive points we got for adding on earlier that year. It was 100% worth it though!! We're going back this Christmas...so big points nights will be happening again!

Thanksgiving stay in 2007 with all of the kids and grandkids was a well spent 1,343 points. Loved every minute if it, only wish we could do it again but unfortunately in this economy all the other cost of tickets, food and souvenirs have made it highly unlikely that we will experience that type of vacation again.

Spent 408 pts in March. 3 nights OKW studio, 7 nights BLT MK view 1BR. Add-on at BLT before we left!

The largest we spent, 910 pts, was for Christmas 2007 in a GV at BWV for eight nights. All of the kids and grandkids came then. What a wonderful time we all had.

Not to add that we are also doing a 4 night cruise in between BCV and BLT (but not on points).

We used 369 in January for 5 days in a THV, and 5 days in a 2 BR Savannah view at Kidani.

I doubt we will every use this much again as I have decided with my DPs found temper and crankiness, we will not take anyone else along with us in the future. I can put up with it but no one else should have to!

623 -- this May. We are celebrating our DGD's birthday and will be staying 8 nights in a 2 br at BCVs plus we are taking extended family and have reserved 7 nights in a 1br at BCVs for them. We managed because we added on at BWVs in '09 and picked up those points + our OKW '09 pts and borrowing some from our '10 pts. Don't you just love DVC!

We used a zillion points JULY of 08 for our 14 night trip in a 2 BR... but we stayed 8 nights at OKW (lower points) and two were on discounted cash. Then we went to BCV for 5 nights, but one was on discounted cash. We find it is well worth it to get discounted cash nights for weekend high point nights to STRETCH A TRIP. Usually somewhere around the 18th to 21st .... the rates drop for DVC Villas because it goes into VALUE season. So if the discount cash rate is good and available and we can use it for weekends...we can stretch trips like that. Of course we decided to add 100 more points Sept. 08 to make it even BETTER.
