Nicole Lauren - we call her Colie or Cole because I did not want to call her Nikki.

Samantha Paige - we usually just call her Sam or Sammie

I haven't read the whole thread, so please excuse repeats.

My DD is Amy Michelle, so naturally I love that name.

I sort of like a multi-syllable name with a single-syllable name (order doesn't matter). They just seem to make for a name that sort of rolls off your tongue. For example Elizabeth Ann or Amanda Rose. Our last name is 1 syllable, so single syllable first names sounded flat with it. (Ann Jones seems boring to me. No offense to any Ann Jones that's out there.)

And don't underestimate common or trendy names. I'm a teacher and studies have shown that children with common names and spellings tend to do better in school and have more confidence. Of course that doesn't mean Cucumber will not have a successful life, but I think we'd all agree his life will be more difficult. Just something to think about.
