What is the most beautiful name you've ever heard?

Never liked my name growing up, but as an adult I love being the only one I know...

Nanette Robin

My DD is my favorite of course...

Molly Anne

See I think of cutesy as being like Breelee or Kinzey and beautiful being the more traditional Sophia or Grace. I think Savannah is beautiful and Ava or Isabella. Noelle is very pretty as well. I think I'm just crazy as nothing has really hit me. Savannah is as close to a hit as I've gotten but as I said before DH isn't convinced. I also know him well enough to know that a nickname is going to be a no brainer and I can't really think of what he would call our DD if she is Savannah.

I would love to name her after my dad, who passed away some years ago. His name was Robert Wayne and her name would be Rayne. I'm scared of backlash and picking though. I don't know.

I think Rayne is beautiful, especially with the spelling and the story. Make a short list and when she comes it will be easier to choose.

I have 3 sons, never decided on a girl name. We were leaning toward Hannah, Leah, and I've always loved Margeaux, (Margo) but don't know if I could actually name a daughter that, especially since my boys have very traditional names. I still really love Leah.

I have a friend with 3 daughters, Olivia, Hannah, and Caroline. I LOVE their names together. Another friend's daughter is Kassidy, goes by Kassi, I LOVE that too.

Good luck! Its a huge decision!
Katy

How about

Myra
Chandler
Greer

I like names you don't hear too much.

My mom's name is Myra. She would be thrilled to hear that someone else likes it as much as she does. ;)

I would love to name her after my dad, who passed away some years ago. His name was Robert Wayne and her name would be Rayne. I'm scared of backlash and picking though. I don't know.

I like the name Rayne -- especially considering the sentiment behind it. I think you should go for it if you want. It's different, but not "out there."

FTR, my name is Ivy. Didn't necessarily love it as a child, but I do now! My DD's name is Regan (pronounced like the former president, but definately not in honor of him. :teeth: )

My girls are Isabelle (Belle) Rhiannon and Amélie (Ami) Juliette.

My other top picks were:

Aurélie
Cécile
Charlotte
Élodie
Geneviève
Victoire

I REALLY wanted Geneviève with the traditional French pronunciation (Jean-Vie-Evv) but DH said it's an old woman name in France.

i like 'marissa'. lovely name and if the recipient does not care for it and wants another name there are plenty within the letters-mari, maris, ari, issa or rissa (i have a name i did'nt care for as a kid and there's no way to ammend it-so i gave this allot of though when looking a girl's names:rotfl2: ).

not to 'bash' any of the other beautiful names on this thread but i have to comment-so many i would never pronounce correctly unless i was told how to. i have to wonder how much a beautiful name would be appreciated if it will be perpetualy mispronounced by others?

btw-i love the name 'clarissa' but hate the shortend version 'claris':scared:
i like 'hannah' but have yet to encounter one who has'nt cursed their parents for giving them a name that was transormed at school into 'hannah bannana':rotfl:

for some reason a portion of my distant family must have a 'thing' for unusual names (that as adults the kids all dropped and refuse to aknowledge) 'maui' (boy), 'true-love', and 'celestial' among others:rolleyes:

Caroline. That's what we're naming a daughter, if we ever have one.princess:

I'd have to agree since that's my daughter's name :)

After reading through the rest of the thread I see lots of other names I think are beautiful. I knew her name would be Caroline (just had to convince my husband) but the only other (remote) possibilities were:
Carolina (rhyming with Tina at the end - like Carolina Herrara) but I knew most people would pronounce it like the states

Julia

Lauren

Elizabeth (my daughter's middle name)

I also love Charlotte. That's my niece's name.

I've always hated my name, Lisa. Hated it, hated it, hated it. I'm still not fond of it, I wish it were something better. There are no good ways to make a good nickname out of it, it always got shortened to "Lis" (pronounced Lease).

I like Molly, Bailey, and I play hockey with a Tanys (pronounced Tan-nis) and an Elsa.

My daughters name is Freya pr Fray uh. Freya was the Norse goddess of love and beauty.

There are a lot of nice names here but if you really want beautiful I think of names like Annalise, Isabelle, Lydia, Audra, Georgiana, India, Eliza, Adele.

If you want to avoid more trendy, popular names avoid most names that starts with a K and the Br names.

My sister actually picked out my DD's name, and I loved it! I paired it with her first name

Laci Renee

Hey I like the name Rayne! (and it having special meaning makes it all the better.)
I was going to say Raina(pronounced Ray Na like you would expect) We knew a little girl named that and I don't know if it is because she was adorable that I love the name or the name itself.

Oh and my last ds would have been Liliana if he was a girl(A woman on my expecting club had that name and I thought it was just beautiful)

Wow...I'm 12 pages in and haven't read the entire thread, but my choices are:

Laurel June

Faith Whitney

I forgot to add my daughters name (duh!!!)
Meghann Sheridan

oh and for a boys name:
Liam

I picked a beautiful name for my DD: Samara Olivia (Samara is Hebrew "ruled by God" & Latin "elm-tree"). Plus her initials are SOL, which is Spanish for Sun. I picked the name Samara because I loved the little girl from THE RING. Tell me she wasn't cute as a button? :goodvibes

I prefer classic names. My favorite is Rosalind.... not used much anymore.

I also like Adelaide, Madeline, and Jane.

If we have a daughter, though, we will name her Margaret, after my favorite aunt.

Well I have to say Sophia too! My Sophia is lovely and bright and always smiling I think her name fit's her. I like Isabella also but don't like how it gets shortened to Izzy. I used to love Gwendolyn too.
