Someone on the resort DVC board was asking about getting certain resorts for 14 days - that got me wondering -- What is the longest continuous DVC stay that you have done? What did you think of the trip -- too long, just enough?

I would think the average would be 7-10 nights. I usually feel 7 nights just isn't long enough and 10 would probably be perfect. I guess it really depends on the amount of points you have to use.

I just did a 14 night stay. It was split 7 days in rental house with friends and 7 in 1 bedroom at SSR.

Right about day 11 or 12, I started feeling like it was too long. So I will plan future trips at 10 days. 7 always feels too short for me.

I've been pondering this question for a while. Back, shortly after 9/11 we did a ten day trip. The parks were so empty that by day 7 we had actually done everything there was to do in every park, we literally had crossed off every attraction on every park map. The trip felt 3 days too long. Since then we have joined DVC and have done 6 to 7 night trips as a family. With the added crowds, and the slower more relaxed pace the trips always feel too short, especially the 6 night trips. We have a 12 night trip coming up this December/New Years. Can't wait to see how we feel on day 10/11/12 of the trip.

In April/May we were did a split stay at BWV & VGF for 28 nights and last Oct/Nov did a split stay at BWV/POLY for 26 nights, and in 2014 did 28 nights split stay at BLT/BCV/VGF/BWV.

Now prior to those trips we had always done trips around 2-3 weeks. Have to say that I really like those long trips. I doubt I get any more done, but it sure makes me forget all about work and life back home.

Our longest stay was 15 days at AKL Jambo House Villas. We usually try to stay an average of 9-10 days because 7 days just feels too rushed. With a 10 day stay, it allows us two days in each park and two days to lounge around the pool or explore Orlando.

I been 12 nights about five times until I got into DCL. The 12 nights I went to the other parks also universal, sea world.

We did 15 nights, but it was off site at two different Marriott condos (this trip was just me and the kids). To me it was great, since a couple days we just enjoyed the resort, swam, and I did a lot of easy meals in. We did mini golf, went to each water park once, and some days just did a few hours at most in the parks. It was very relaxed to me.

Kind of off topic, but we do every other year in Hawaii at the Marriott Ko Olina next to Aulani. We own two weeks, and last few trips since I bought the second week that's what we've done. That even feels too short to me, so booked four weeks next year splitting it up between the studio for the first two weeks (probably just DD and me) then the one bedroom for the next two weeks (all 4 of us). I'm so looking forward to that! We really enjoy relaxing at the resort a lot and eating in rather than eating out all the time.

Our trip this October/November is 11 nights (8 nights at BLT and 3 at AoA) I think its actually going to be a couple days too long for us just because we have 2 kids 4 and under so we end up needing a vacation from our vacation! but we wanted to do both Halloween and Christmas parties plus get one super long trip in before the kids are in school.

Last summer was our longest DVC stay, 12 nights at 3 resorts (1st night at AKV, then 7 nights at BWV followed by 4 nights at SSR). We typically do 3-6 night stays and we definitely prefer that. The 12 nighter was too long and very tiring.

Our longest WDW was 10 nights all at BWV -- consisting of 7-night RCI inbound exchange into BWV with 3 nights on points; no room change required. Of the time, 6 days were intensive work-related conference activities at the Dolphin/Swan/Yacht Club Conference centers and the other days used for onsite pre-conference preparations and post-conference "crashed out" recovery. Now that the conference has ended (after almost 20 years of attending) our trips to WDW are ~4 nights and almost not worth the cross country travel.

Outside DVC, our longest-ever-vacation, to date, is about 3 weeks (Argentina + Antarctica). We hope to break that soon with a trans-pacific cruise followed by a week in Sydney, AU.

Last year we did 9 nights. That wasn't enough for me, so this year I'm going down early with three kids so my vacation will be 10 nights, my husband will come down 2 nights later.
Our kids are 2,2,4,6. I need the extra time to find relaxing time on vacation now.

Our longest trip was 14 nights:
2 nights at VB
7 nights on a DCL
5 nights at BWV
Never set foot in a park and had a great time.

We did a couple of 14 day stays back about 10 years ago. I prefer shorter stays.

We have done 2 weeks and that was too long -- physically, mentally, and monetarily. We have often done 7 and consider that not really long enough. We have settled into 9 or 10 night stays that we consider ideal but sometimes just 8. We maintain reasonable budget with that many days by sticking generally to buffets, counter service, and some meals made in room, go to parks some days only for three hours or so, sometimes do a Sea World or Universal day, and generally never feel rushed to do things or that we have overdosed on WDW.

For the past two years, we have done 12-day stays at VGF during the beginning of December. For us, non-park days are needed to address the feeling of monotony toward the end of the trip. We find 10-day stays ideal, giving us 4 days at Magic Kingdom and Epcot and 1 day at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

My mom and dad did 42 nights in Jan-Mar 2016 with 28 days at WLV and the first two weeks at SSR that I got through RCI trades using my Hawaii timeshare. The WLV portion was booked on DVC points and I got to enjoy visiting them for a week in Jan at SSR and then the last two weeks of their trip. It was great but the construction at the WLV definitely put a damper on what could have been an incredible trip.

Just returned from a 10 day trip and I think it was a couple of days too long. I think I need an event time of the year, like Food and Wine or Flower and Garden, to be there longer than 7 or 8 days.
