What is the latest on Laci Peterson??

I have not seen any news since early this morning on the east coast. Does anyone know if Laci Peterson was found in the water??

Looks like they didn't find her in the water yet.

That link is from an article written a week ago. Unfortunately, they did find something in the water on Thursday and are back in right now. If you go to www.sfgate.com (hope the link works), that is our local news website and they will update immediately if something happens. It's such a sad, sad story.

Supposedly they did not find her body just an anchor.
I found this interesting: When he supposedly went fishing he nor his wife had a cell phone. Considering she could deliver any time and no one would be able to reach him, I just can't believe he would have gone and left her home alone.
I can't help but wonder if they got into a fight because he wanted to go fishing and maybe things got out of hand... I'm afraid she probably is in the lake.

I'm so confused. Didn't they originally say that she was seen walking her dog on Christmas Eve? And that the dog came home alone dragging his muddy leash? How could she be on the boat then?

Jeafl - I'm not sure if someone actually saw her walking the dog or the husband told them she was walking the dog?

I think I heard that a neighbor found the dog roaming the streets, and put him back in his yard.

It does kind of sound like things are pointing toward the husband!

her husband said that's what she was going to do before he left...then a neighbor found the dog wandering around outside.

Why is this story so important? People disappear all the time, but the media is blowing this out of proportion, it's weird to me, I don't think this deserves national attention.

I think the families of all of the other people who have disappeared in the same timespan without any media coverage are wondering why Laci is more important than their loved ones.

So are you saying that all disappearance cases should be made public or none? I think this one made national headlines because she was 8 1/2 months pregnant when she came up missing.

With the media it is a combined effort of the families and them. In addition they have the air time to devote to it. If something came along that was better, well the media is fickle.

Also it has all the punch of ultimate pain (Christmas Eve, husband leaves, no one sees him, no one sees her with dog, she's pregnant) which SELLS...They smell something fishy like all of us do and that is our lure. We are holding out hope that the husband had no involvement. If it is found out he does then they have their foot in the door already to do the follow up.

Media is pure business and if you see it that way you can gain clarity.

My whole thinking is that some crazy person got her that has recently lost a baby and they plan on killing her and stealing the baby. I remember something like this happening about 10-15 years ago.

She has been in my prayers. This really hit home since her due date was 5 days after mine. It's incredibly "real" to me now since my baby is here. Her due date is February 10, so hopefully she's out there safe and pregnant, but she could easily go into labor any time now.

Something just like what you described happened in the Chicago area here a few years ago. Very sad.

But whatever happened to Laci is just too sad.

I think all missing people deserve media attention equally, who the media chooses is the ones that have more interest so to speak~pregnant, husband, christmas eve. More people would probably be found if the media got more involved. I pray for Laci and her family and I am GLAD the media got involved in her case especially if it turns out to have helped.
