What is the funniest "not quite right" name for an attraction you have heard?

my dd calls Illuminations "eliminations" and always asks where the people are that got "eliminated" To much reality tv at our house I guess

I read someplace that the "fish" depicted on the top of the resort IS actually a dolphin. The animal that we commonly call a dolphin is actually a porpoise. I was never able to determine why or how it got to be that way, but that is the story.

The dolphins on top of the Dolphin are actually the mythological versions of the dolphin. They are also all around WDW.

Last week, as DH and I were sitting on a bench in Fantasyland we heard a man say to his family while they were walking toward the Carouselle "Does anyone want to ride the ferris wheel?"

I've posted this before, but it never fails to make me laugh. My mom called the Carousel of Progress the......Wheel of Continuum. I laugh and laugh and laugh EVERY time I think about it.

Oh my goodness, this made me laugh until I cried. Maybe it's just because it's late Friday night!

I call it the Peoplemover because that's what it was at Disneyland and I miss it so it just made sense to call the MK version the same thing. I don't know if I even know it's proper name.

At DL I've heard Magic Mountain more times than I can count. It could have referred to either Space Mountain or Splash Mountain depending on the guest.

But I'd have to say my favorite was walking through Tomorrowland (again at DL) and listening to a man tell his companion very seriously that he cannot believe Disney named it the Bud Lightyear ride. He was so earnest and in such disbelief that a ride and character were named after a beer.

It is quite common in our family when refering to WDW to simply say "Disney", for example: "I can't wait to go back to Disney!" and our now 5 yr old DD did not quite comprehend how Walt Disney World was made up of more then just the parks, we would be at our resort, the CSR and she would ask "Are we going to Disney today?" we knew what she ment but I thought it was cute.

I call ToT the elevator ride when my niece is around. I really wanted her to go on it last year. Maybe this year she will be brave enough.

I've called SE the big golf ball thing since I was 7. I didn't even know there was a ride in it until a few years ago! I don't think I can stop now hehe.

Until we go this year, I'll have only been in DHS when it was MGM Studios, so that's a little hard for me to 'get'.

MK being called Disney World bugs me too though!

My dad called me this week from "Walt Disney" to tell me that he wanted to ride the "Sky Train Ride" but got in line for the "Rocket Spinners" instead.

I told him to have fun at the Magic Kingdom and that the TTA was up the escalator/ramp but did he at least enjoy the ride on Astro Orbiters?

While waiting for a bus to see some fireworks with my DD, a young couple asked us if we knew where "Lizzard Island" was. They were in their bathing suits. They heard it was a night club & water park all wrapped up in one. They swore they saw the bus for it the day before.

I assume they had Blizzard Beach & Pleasure Island a bit confused.

I heard a child say to his parent that he wanted to see the "blooming onion of fireworks." I am not sure what that was, but my DS picked up on it & calls Illuminations "The Blooming Onion Fireworks" now.

Have you ever been on the "viking cruise" in Norway? I think it was my DD's invention.

I haven't had a chance to read the entire thread but here is mine.

A couple of years ago, we had an early breakfast at Donal's Breakfastsaurus, then did the rope drop for Primevil Whirl. I joked about Primevil Hurl.

Our then 4 yr old DGD called it Primevil Hurl the rest of the trip.

Very appropriate for some people!
