What is the first thing you do when you enter DL

This. Glance up at the sign (here you leave today...) and say a little thank you to Walt. :wizard:

after taking my DH to the mail box that is attached to the front of each arch to deposit his real world worries and send them back home. They ill be waiting for them when we get home. One year he even hit his head against it!:rotfl: But it works like a charm!

Let the happy tears flow... then hop on the train for a round trip around the park, catching glimpses of all the magic and fun times yet to come. This tradition has been in my family for decades. :goodvibes

This will be my first trip. I'm heading straight for Mr. Toads Wild Ride. It makes me mad that he is no longer in WDW.

My DS4 and I head straight for Peter Pan's Flight and then we ride Dumbo. After that, he usually wants either Casey Jr or the Carrousel but I make sure we ride PP first before the line gets too crazy.

Our little tradition is that we ride the monorail in from DTD and ride the Matterhorn. I think I enjoy coming in th emain entrance better but we have done this so many years now that we can't stop. And since these are two iconic Disney I don't mind at all. And as long as our girls want to stay the course, we will continue to do it this for years to come.

:goodvibes This is exactly what I do. I actually had a dream about this the other night too, and I woke up smiling. You gotta say that thank you to Walt, cause if it werent for him, we wouldnt have any of this amazingness.

I smile, think "horray.. I'm back!", get a bit sentimental, then take the train all the way around the park. Just to soak it in for a bit.

We usually plan to fly out of Portland Oregon in the early morning and arrive at the park just around lunchtime (a little after once we are all checked in and bags are in the room).

We make it a point to enter through the front gates where we can read Walt's welcome as we pass under the tracks on the left side so we can allow our youngest son look at the train (with which he is obsessed with) and then on to the Plaza Inn for lunch (DH always gets the chicken, I get the pasta).

Here we can sit and eat and get ourselves mentally and physically ready for the 5 or 7 days ahead of us by watching people walk around the Hub, listen to the music, and talk/think of all the possiblities that are awaiting us! It usually takes a little while for the reality to set in that we are actually at Disneyland!

Then off to Pirates!

Those first moments are the absolute best!

I'm the same way. Usually our first stop is the restroom. Then I sing along to the Main Street music as we make our way up the street and wander the shops to see what's new since the last time. DH normally hates shopping, but he is right there with me at Disney. And truthfully I think we both need Main Street to ease us back into Disney mode. I think that's why it's my favorite place on Disney property.

When we get to the top of Main Street, we usually turn right--to Buzz Lightyear. Where I lose. Every time.

First thing in the morning we would go on the rides with the longest wait lines(either Indiana Jones or Splash Mountain), but since having a little one, we do it with the "kiddie" rides (It's A Small World or Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage) OR if there is no line, then we walk-on those first.

ask DD for her ticket/AP to secure it in my bag. :rotfl2:

Then we hold hands,
take a minute to look at the flowers below the train station.

Then I let her take the lead.
She loves the omnibus & other Main St. vehicles.

I try to remind myself that we can do Peter Pan first thing tomorrow.

If we are in Ca Adv - she loves the Redwood Trail play area.

Photo in front of the castle ofcourse!

then usually head to FantasyLand... (cause you gotta got those rides in before the lines are too long- or alteast get FP's) but this last trip it was straight to CaptainEO... :thumbsup2

I always walk to the left to go under the side with the sign that says "Here you leave today and enter the world of Yesterday, Tomorrow, and Fantasy" than I walk slowly down Mainstreet while getting hit with waves of euphoria. Than I usually go fastpass Indiana Jones. Go ride Pirates of the Carribean, Splash Mountain, and Winnie the Pooh. By then, it'll be time to go back to Indiana Jones to go in the fast pass line.

This is always my first. Then I ride Alice and the Storybook, which was being refurbed last trip.

The first moment I get giddy with excitement is when we cross the street and I see the big Disneyland sign. My girls will start skipping at this point and my pace will quickens as we walk under. Up ahead I can see the speakers and I know that in a matter of seconds I will hear the delightful sounds of Disney music that I loved as a child! As I strain to hear the first note I say Shhh and point up and all of my girls **** the ears to the side to listen to that song and every face lights up with excitement! My girls and I start humming and singing and now and we start to walk a little quicker as my husband snaps lots of pictures.
We always line up to the right. But Now the anticipations grows as we wait because we are never the very first ones in line. There is one little sound I want to hear the chime of my ticket being scanned! When I hear that sound a shed a tear and giggle all at the same time! We wait in anticipation and my girls start waving their tickets. I position the stroller in the middle to pass through the special gate and then we here our chime and walk through.
The girls and I want to go to Fantasyland first and Daddy pushes the stroller from this point and says good-bye for now to his dreams of Indy for at least the morning! We walk under the tracks on the right side and the first thing I look at now is the beauty of the park. The flowers hanging from the light posts always catch my eye. Then I look up at the Train Station and think I did it! I brought my family to the happiest place on earth one more time! And I think about every penny we saved to get there the extra hours that we both worked and I am filled with pride and love for my little family! :lovestruc
Do you think Walt really had any idea what he was building for all of us?

We usually walk down main street taking in the wonderful aromas at the end we head to the left. We get a FP for Indy and head on to POTC then HM. That is the course we take when arriving late in the afternoon after our long drive.

However if we start our day at park opening then its straight to PP. Unless of course its a MM day and we dont have MM then we start our day in Adventure Land and start collecting FPs.
