What is the first thing that you do when you board?

Is there something that you have to do right after you board the ship? If so why?

We've (husband and I) have done one cruise before but this time my two daughters (4,7) and parents will be traveling with us. We've already booked the meet and greets, so we are just looking for ideas

After eating lunch, we just walk around and look over the ship.

I like to drop off carry-on bags, and go to lunch at Cabanas. Because we tend to board after 1:30, rooms are ready and the buffet is not crowded.

If you made any special requests for dining, you might want to check on those. Also, if you're interested in doing any of the beer, wine or liquor tasting, you can sign up. If you wanted to dine at Palo or Remy and weren't able to get a reservation, you can do that upon boarding also. If your kids are planning to use the kids clubs, and you didn't register them while in the terminal, you should do that once you board also.

When boarding prior to our rooms being ready, we usually head to the buffet to grab something to eat and sit on the deck. Then we head on over to the kids program to get everybody registered and tour the inside. After that, it's usually exploring the ship. Maybe sitting up on the upper deck chairs until our rooms are ready. Then we get ready for the cast off. :)

We go to the buffet that's in the MDR that's opened and enjoy a leisurely lunch! Cannot wait!

Lunch. Visit kid's club during open house. Muster Drill. Sailaway Party. Dinner / shows. Unpack when luggage arrives.

Relax. Enjoy.

I hunt down a table on the port side of the ship. DW and both DD's drop off carry-ons and head to Cabanas.

I've read in recent Navigators that there is a certain free amount of internet if you sign up the first day, planning to do that next time we sail.

On our first cruise, we didn't know about stateroom door decorations. On our second cruise, I had my husband distract my son upon boarding and take him to lunch first while I rushed to the room to decorate the door and to leave a goody bag on the bed. My son was so excited when he arrived to the room.

On the Dream, we head down to the Enchanted Garden for a quiet, cool buffet then to our stateroom to unpack and relax after all the rushing and excitement of boarding. Also go to DVC meeting for possible freebies. Next cruise in March 2017 in room 6560.

Grab a drink! OK, walk onto the ship and then grab a drink......Lunch.....Oceaneers Club and then off to our room....then let the party begin!!

If on Dream/Fantasy, Aquaduck. It can be some of the shortest lines of the cruise. We rode 5 times in an hour. Never rode again all week because of lines.

What a great idea! My girls would love this surprise!
