What is the first thing that you do when you board?

When boarding prior to our rooms being ready, we usually head to the buffet to grab something to eat and sit on the deck. Then we head on over to the kids program to get everybody registered and tour the inside. After that, it's usually exploring the ship. Maybe sitting up on the upper deck chairs until our rooms are ready. Then we get ready for the cast off. :)

Is there any reason why you don't register them at the terminal?

If on Dream/Fantasy, Aquaduck. It can be some of the shortest lines of the cruise. We rode 5 times in an hour. Never rode again all week because of lines.

Great idea!sound like this is something we will have to do

Since I'm usually in the first few boarding groups I usually grab something to eat. After that I check on or add dinner/brunch reservations for Palo/Remy and depending on the situation I might even make reservations for princess gatherings/meets, etc. Aside from that it's just relax until my room is ready.

eat lunch.....then head for the room to get rid of our carry on bags...
then walk around the ship...take the spa tour, etc...
on the dream, i wish we'd done the aqua-duck the first day, as we hit terrible weather the rest of the cruise with high winds (hurricane sandy), so no aquaduck....

Since we sail concierge we head right for the lounge for a welcome drink.

Then to Enchanted Garden for lunch.

Take pictures. While people are boarding and heading to lunch, I run around to the store fronts and hallways and restaurants and sitting areas, taking people free pictures. Then we head to lunch.

I'm watching this thread b/c I've never been on a disney cruise, and because my last (and only) cruise was 10 years ago. I have two kids (9 and 5yo) .... re: the kids clubs, they'll give tours to kids & parents on that first day? I'll need to register them as well? I'm sort of clueless, obviously.

We double check our dining assignment, used to sign up for the meet and greets (did that online this time), and head up to get some lunch. The kids usually swim right after, and then we take our carry ons to our room when it's ready. Then there is going by the kids clubs to get their wrist bands and touring them, the DVC meet and greet, and of course the Muster Drill.

Well, it was plenty for us. But we don't do much online while cruising. Only check our email every couple of days.

LOL... I was trying to lookup a video on how to tie a corset. I know I should have pre-planned a little better, but alas...

Our cruise is in a few weeks. Since character meet sign ups were online, I think we'll sign up for a galley tour and then get some Lunch :)

We go sign up for things we want, then head to buffet, then go to pool deck and ride the Aquaduck. After that we head to our room change for muster drill and sailaway party. At sailaway party we always get a cocktail! First day is so fun! You know your vacation is just starting!

I love that sailaway -- after you are settled in, after you have gotten all your ressies and after the dreaded muster drill -- then you know your vacation has begun! Drink of the day, live music, party on.....

This is a great thread! My kids and parents are starting to get excited. I've already registered the boys for the clubs, so I just have to get their bands. We have an early arrival time, so I'll probably get them at the terminal. We'll come on board with our swimsuits on, leave the carry-ons with my mom at a table on deck, and all who wants to will go and jump on the Aquaduck as many times as we can! Does anyone know if the poolside quick service options will be open for lunch that first day, you know, the pizza and sandwich windows?

1. Cabanas for our "welcome home" brunch :)
2. We go to the first dining room of the rotation and check out our table for location and to see if it is a 4 top or more.
3. Spa for the Rainforest pass, (if it is a short cruise I don't get one though.)
4. Cabin is open by then, so we drop stuff off and I send everyone out to Mid Detective or mini golf while I unpack. (Luggage is usually there no later than 2)
5. Mandatory Drill
6. Head to our cabin to wave from the Verandah at the folks at Fishlips. ( after a couple of sailaway parties, we decided the madness is just not our thing)
7. Aquaduck and pool at about 5:15 since most folks are getting ready for dinner or shows. :)
8. Dinner at 8:15
9. Kids take off to Vibe and Edge and hubby and I head out to one of the clubs to hang out and have a drink or two.

Sometimes, we don't do a couple of those things in order, but this is how it usually works out in our family.
Have a great cruise!

3. Spa for the Rainforest pass, (if it is a short cruise I don't get one though.)

You can save some money if you get your Rainforest passes before the cruise. My partner's mom and I did that on the Transatlantic last year. I forget how much the difference was.

I like to get the scrubs that are priced into the length of cruise pass.
The pass you purchase thru gifts and amenities does not offer the scrubs, although they can be purchased for 12.00 more if you want them.
