What is the Fantasmic Dining Package?

I have seen several references in other posts to the Fantasmic Dining Package. We are having dinner and planning to see Fantasmic at MGM during our trip. What does this Dining package entail? Do we have to purchase it? Thanks in advance for your help.

You can call and book the Fantasmic Package through Disney dining. If you book either H&V, Mama Melrose, or Brown Derby, at the end of dinner they will give you a voucher to enter through a special 'package' entrance up till 30 minutes prior to the show. This means you don't have to wait in the regular line. The seats are to the right of the stage. They will not guarantee the seats afer 30 minutes and will release them to the general public.

You do not pay extra for the Fantasmic Package. You do have to give a CC when booking to hold the reservation. They will only charge your CC if you do not show up for the reservation and do not cancel.

We participated in this last June and were satisfied.
I thought it was a good idea so we did not have to stand in line. We ended up going over to Fantasmic early anyway and sat and waited in our seats for the show to start, but that was our choice. I guess the goal is to give you an edge to cut down on "wait time."

Thank you both for your help. I understand the package now. Since the Prime Time Cafe, where I have an ADR isn't included in the package, I'll try my luck with the line.
