I would like to pop in MGM real quick to buy something. However, I will be a the Magic Kingdom all day and then going to Downtown Disney for dinner. So here are my thoughts so far, what would be easier and quicker?:
a) take the monirail to Epcot, cut through and take the boat over to MGM
b) have the dh drop me off at MGM on our way to Downtown disney, could he do that and not have to park?
c) hop on a bus at Downtown Disney and go over there? if there is a bus, how often does it run?

Thanks for the help!

I can't offer much advice except for DON'T TAKE THE BUS FROM DOWNTOWN DISNEY! I seldom complain about the buses at Disney. They aren't a problem to me. BUT... I've never ever ever waited so long for a bus as I did at Downtown Disney. I thought they had quit running. It was terrible! My next trip I stayed at POFQ and was so thankful I could take the boat to DD and back.

Since you'll have a car, and you're only going in for a second. I'd have DH wait in the car. Sounds like the best plan to me.

I wouldn't go with option 'a' as it would take a really long time, much longer than necessary. You'd have to take the monorail to the TTC, then switch to the Epcot monorail, enter and walk thru Future World, then walk 1/4 around World Showcase to get to the International Gateway. I'd say you're already up to about 30 - 40 minutes and you haven't even gotten on the Friendship Launch yet. From Epcot the launch goes to the Boardwalk, then to the Yacht & Beach Club, then to the Dolphin & Swan Resorts, and then finally to MGM. Your entire trip would take well over an hour - maybe closer to 90 minutes.

If you'd like to go from the Magic Kingdom to MGM you could take a bus from the Ticket and Transportation Center. Simply take the monorail or ferry from MK across the lagoon to the TTC and the busses will be on the left. The MGM bus will take you right to the park. If you left MK earlier than your dh then maybe you could arrange to have him pick you up in front (beside) MGM at a specific time (that way he wouldn't have to wait while you were shopping). Or you could take the bus back to MK or even to Downtown Disney.

Good luck :)

Since you have a car I would drive over to MGM and have your husband wait while you run in. At each of the parks they do have a drop off area in the parking lot - usually by the handicapped spots and pretty close to the gates. When you pull in tell them that your husband is dropping you off so they don't direct you to a parking space. If your husband waits in the car I don't think you will have a problem.

I wouldn't do the monorail to Epcot route. That would involve a monorail to TTC and switch to Epcot monorail for the trip to Epcot (15+ minutes), walk thru Epcot (long walk), boat or walk to MGM (20+ minutes) - I'm exhausted just thinking about it! The buses would take forever just to stop in for a minute to buy something. Since you have the car use it - just such a situation is why we always get a car, it is soooo convenient.
