What is the Dinosoar Ride like?

I heard it is bumpy and jerky, but is there drops and does it go fast?:faint:

Very bumpy and jerky but no real drops. As far as speed, it goes in various speeds through the ride, faster as it tries to get away from the various dinosaurs. It's also pretty dark and rather loud. That being said, my 6½ went on it and did okay, but riding it once was enough for him. He also went on it 2 years ago at 4½.

It is a bit jerky and bumpy but not to the point to make one sick (at least not my DH and he tends to get motion sickness very easy). There are no real drops, a couple small hills but nothing to make you loose your belly too much. Children should be forwarned more on the dark and dinosaurs (they can seem to get pretty close). Have fun!

I am a total chicken when it comes to rides and I did this one fine. It is very jerky, but no roller coaster type drops. However, because it was so jerky and that lap bar comes down so tight against your legs, I had bruises!

it was very bumpy and jerky, no drops, didnt go fast at all. i thought it was milder than indiana jones at disneyland (same ride vehicle). it might be scary for a child, especially the last 10 seconds of the ride...it scared the you know what out of me both times i rode it last week.

i dont want to spoil it because it is really cool, but if you really want to know i will tell you...

I don't know.... maybe I should have it be a surprise. Will my kids claw into me, should I be prepared?:scared1: :scared1:

its not terrifying, but be prepared...i thought the end of the ride was very scary...not gonna tell you cause i think it will ruin it, but it was very cool.

One of the best "dark rides" ever.

Don't ride it if you have any back or neck problems, it's quite jerky and not worth aggrevating any current problems you have.

I don't recommend this ride for small children. It can be very intense. My son, at 7 will ride the haunted mansion if I ask, but when I explain that this one involves large dinosaurs he alwaysd passes. I'll try again next time, but I can wait.

Otherwise, it's a "must do".

not fast, but very jerky. I thought my ds didn't go at age 6 because he wasn't tall enough, but now I remember he was but we went to check it out first and thought it would be too scary for him. He did go at age 8, and it scared the *********out of him! He does want to go again, though.

Like previous posters stated ...... rough ride.

All three of my kids; DS-11, DS-6, DD-4 were trying to hide under their seats :( . They DO NOT want to ride it again. I also was a little scared my DH was laughing at all of us. He thought it was great.

I've never been so scared in my life than I was on that Dinosaur ride. I don't think I could ever do it again -- and I'm a huge fan of thrill rides. It was just to 'real' looking to me...I couldn't separate myself. Too scary & dark for me!
:earseek:

We just rode it for the first time a few weeks ago. I rode with a 9 and 12 year old. None of us liked it. It was loud and jerky. Not scary or fast. I would say this ride and Primeval Whirl are my 2 least favorite rides @ WDW. My back still hurts from riding PW.

I like Dinosaur but it's loud--very noisy. Did I mention it's LOUD? The jerkiness didn't bother me but I threw my neck out when the TRex roared and I turned to look at it!
