What is the dining plan?

and how does it work? Is there a link to Disney that would give me all that info? My family of 4 are eaters, just wondering if it is a good deal and if it is enough food. Would hate to pay for it and then still buy tons of food!!

The Dining Plan is avaible for anyone staying onsite with a package. So you pay rack rate for your hotel, get your tickets and dining through Disney.

If you have an Ap you will have to get at least a one day base ticket to get the package.

For the Dining you get one Counter Service Meal, one Sit Down Meal and one snack a day.

For Adults (9 years and over) it is $35 a day and for children (3-9) it is $10 a day.

On Disney's website they have a whole list of resturants that are on the Plan.

It really is a great way to save money. We own DVC, we cannot get the Dining Plan and in August for 7 days and 6 people are food was over $1200.

Wow, it does sound like a good deal. I will have to check it out. So, if I got this straight, you have to pay rack rate, so if I use a AAA discount, I don't get the option of the meal plan? We aren't AP holders.

AAA has discounted MYW w/dining packages. For the most part, you need to book the package thru AAA. However, there have been some reports that people have been able to book the discounted package thru Disney directly. The discount mainly consists of a room discount with tickets at the advance purchase price and MYW dining at the regular rates.

You have to pay rack rate for a package- then you pay an additional $ per person, per day. It is $35 for each adult and $10 per child. It is a good deal is you want to do several sit down or character meals. Your family can do one per day plus one other counter service plus one snack.
