What is the deadline for 1099's?

I thought they didn't have to be mailed out until February? Or is it Jan. 31st?

That's what I thought, too, which is why I'm asking. I want to be sure.

Are you receiving a 1099 or preparing them? There are 2 deadlines. The first is Jan 31. That is when the 1099's are to be mailed to the recipients. The second to Feb 28. That is when the 1099's and Transmittals are due to the IRS.
