The wife and I will be doing a mom and dad only trip in Sept-Oct. Since no kiddos in tow we were thinking of taking a tour or two. We haven't done anything like this before. Could you please give your recommendation and review of what you have done.
Thanks we are looking foward to it.

Sounds like you will be there during the Food & Wine Festival. Why not do one of the special F&W events - there are many to choose from and they are lots of fun. Here's a link to last year's events to give you an idea of what may be available for the 2009 Festival:

What I found fun is that one day, I just stayed in the festival center and went from free event to free event. Yes, it involved quite a bit of standing in line, but I met some fun people and had some great food and wine. Also, one year I did the Segway tour, and that was a lot of fun.

I have done the Segway Tours (Epcot and widlerness trails) and both were incredible. The Seways themselves are fun to ride and is a great experience in general.

Touring Epcot before it opens, riding through obstacle courses and then through the countries with no one else there was quite a unique experience in itself. The Wildreness trails version is also quite unique in that it is more scenic and interactive as the guides have many tails to tell about the wilderness lodge, the villas and the camp grounds.

I would recommend both Segway tours. I am not sure which one I would recommend over the other as they are both unique and great experiences.

Loved KTTK tour, and also really liked the steam train tour (but I'm a big train fan so that helps).

I tried the link but it is a pic of MNSSHP pic. If you find it I would be very interested in that. Did you get to go behind the scenes? Or is that a different tour?

Love it, we are going to eat our way around the world, something that can't be done with our kids in tow.

I like that idea too we will be at the BCV so the Epcot sounds cool we will have to do the WL Segway tour in Nov. maybe.

I agree that getting to ride through the countries of Epcot before it opens to the public was worth the money of the tour. I did it for my husband thinking I wouldn't like it very much (let's just say I'm not very coordinated) but I LOVED it more than he did I think.

My DH and I did that last April. We did the Segway tour at Epcot and loved it so we're doing the Segway at Fort Wilderness next spring. We also did Keys to the Kingdom and enjoyed it so next spring we are doing the day long version to multiple parks- the name of that one escapes me at the moment.

I took the backstage tour at Animal Kingdom (not Wild by Design, but the other one, can't find the name right now) and it was GREAT!

My favorite sadly is gone... Undiscovered Treasures of World Showcase :(

I did Keys to the Kingdom. I may be alone on here, but I felt it was too long and just a little boring. However, MK is the park I spend the least time in. (Didn't visit at all last trip LOL!)

I do want to the whole day tour, but.... it's pricy.

I think Allearsnet.com has reviews on most of them!

DH and I have done Behind the seeds, Segway at Epcot and KTTK. Segway was hands down my favorite. We're thinking about going again soon.

My DH and I went to the food and wine festival this year and I don't drink. I do eat though and enjoyed trying the foods from all the nations. We also did KTTK tour and loved it. I have been coming to WDW for many years and thought it would be nice to do something different. We went behind the scenes and into the utilidoors below. You will see WDW in a whole new light! It is a 5 hour tour full of fun info and I thought it was great.

We did a kitchen conversation event at Epcot this year in October during F&W.

It was wonderful. We were able to sit directly across from the elevated stage in large round tables, with tableclothes and centerpieces (we got in line about 30 early so had ouar pick of seats, I would recommend this). We could see everything, and there were big flat screens of what the camera guy filmed of the actual cooking in the pan, etc.
The appliances used on stage were top of line and it was fun to watch a pro live and in person make the most of them.

We love the featured restaurant (Commander's Palace in New Orleans), and the new executive chef is so personable and interesting. There was a lot of banter before the cooking started with the lady who served as a sort of M.C.

The duck was to die for and the portions huge as the chef had been told to cook for 100 and only 30 odd people were signed up. The $75 plus tax price tag included a signed cookbook per person.

We had a blast talking to our tablemates, one fellow has gone to F&W every year since it started.

I want to attend this again in the future in finances permit.

Note: this was an all adult audience but I think children would like it too as you can really see the cooking experience well.

That one's Backstage Safari, I think is the name. I did that a couple years ago and I loved it also. However, I love anything related to the AK, so I'm a little biased. I look forward to doing the Wild by Design tour someday. However, last time I checked they were offered on only certain days and the Wild by Design tour hasn't been offered on a convenient day for me.

I went on the Segway tour in Epcot on my trip last June, I was there on an adult trip with a friend- no kids!! :woohoo: Anyway, the tour was excellent, and the Segways are alot of fun to ride.

Don't forget to go to one of the spas!! It's not a tour, but it IS a lot of adult fun!:goodvibes

Another vote for the Epcot Segway tour, we've done this twice and like it so much we've done the one at DCA too. Next will have to try the Wilderness one.
