What is the best tip for visiting Disney?

Use park maps and a good guidebook to make a personal touring plan. Make it easy to follow, plan it to avoid backtracking all over the park, include the things you want most to experience, and leave plenty of time between attractions. Having made your plan, make reservations for any table service eateries you wish to visit. (I allow one hour for each meal generally, in planning my solo trips.)

That extra time before planned attractions is of prime importance. If you have time to spare during the day, use it to people watch, do something you really like twice, etc. If you get behind, your plan was not well thought out, and you'll not have quite as good a time.

Enjoy.

wear comfortable shoes, don't over pack and read the Dis Boards!!!

Read a guidebook, have each day generally planned out, and most important, arrive to the park a little before opening. It is amazing what you can get done while many others are still sleeping!

Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season - Off Season.

Oh - and Off Season.

Don't stress if things don't go as you planned. We (DD & I) just got back from our first trip and planned the whole get to the park early, break in the afternoon, and head back at night - had we actually done that, we would have burned out quickly! We like to sleep in, and so we did. Everything got pushed back - breakfast at lunch time, lunch at supper time, supper at bed time, bed time really late - but we had a blast and were well rested each day. Alarm clocks are meant to be used at home - not while on vacation!!!

If you could give one tip to some one who is about to head to WDW, what would it be?

Don't stress out over making sure you see everything. Relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: If you don't follow this tip, the others are all in vain.

I agree with what many of you said

1. low season
2. comfortable shoes
3. plan (half of the fun anyway)
4. relax once you get there
5. have fun

go well informed
plan down time
ADR before you go
slow down and enjoy the pixie dust
;)

my best tip is just have "patience" this is the one thing i have learned from all of my WDW trip, with friends before marriage, with my boys when they were younger and now that they are teens 16 & 18 the key word to a successful WDW trip is patience

i learned that the hard way.

These are all great tips but what about any tips for getting around the parks? Any great secret tips out there or even ideas?

Some of the best advice I've ever seen! :thumbsup2
(Although I'll admit we did EMH morning once for AK--and were able to ride EE 4 times in a row, no waiting. But my kids really enjoyed the days we slept in and relaxed--moseyed around the parks, etc. We had gone two years in a row, for ten or more days each time, so we had the luxury of taking our time and not trying to cram everything in. I'll definitely avoid using the alarm clock again for our next Disney vacation--it made the trip very relaxing. And I never thought I could relax at Disney!) :sunny:

1. Get SCHOOLed here at the DIS BOARD!
2. GO on the off season ( in other words when everyone zigs....you ZAG!)
3. Become familiar with the parks ( especially if your not familiar..it can really help...I studied and marked what I was going to in AK the night before..the last time I went... I had been to the WDW before but not AK.
4. FAST PASSES! USE THEM...and take Take advantage of the Early/Late Hrs.
5. Bring lots of CASH $$$$ to eats and spend on soovies

Buy your tickets in advance (we saw soo many people lining up at the ticket booths last time)
Use Fastpasses (wisely!)
Be considerate of others and try to turn a blind eye to 'minor annoyances'
